A note from the Church Secretary..... How Quickly the time goes—
another month has passed and we
are fast approaching Easter.
A vacancy of ministry has now
been declared for Christ Church at
Clacton and us here at Dovercourt
Central. We look forward to the
response to this.
Meanwhile we need to continue to
think and pray for the future of
our Churches and the Churches
around us.
As we prepare for Easter Sunday,
I think this prayer for Holy Satur-
day from the URC prayer hand-
book can help us in our medita-
tion.
Christian Greetings
What should I do? What should I do today?
Now the question is even harder, For we have witnessed and prayed, But tomorrow is not here yet. Not yet.
And we do not have your tomb to guard Or spices to prepare your body. And in our church there is no service.
So it is just an ordinary day, A day to go to the shops, Meet family or friends, go to work?
Or is it a day to wait? Should I just sit and wait with you? And what am I waiting for?
I am waiting for a worldwide celebration of your rising. And in amongst everything I will do today. Ordinary or extraordinary, Maybe that is worth waiting for.
So help me, Lord, To make this a day to wait, In busyness or in calm, In noise or in silence. Help me to wait patiently For the coming worldwide shout of ‘Hallelujah! He is risen!’

News from the Methodist Circuit Barry and I attended Circuit
Meeting on the 12th. March at Jay-
wick Methodist Church and heard
same sad news. Our friends at
Parkeston are to close their church
on the 5th. May 2013. We share
with them their sadness and re-
member with grateful thankful-
ness their kindnesses to us in 2000
when our building was undergo-
ing its redevelopment and we
spent nine months worshipping
with them.
The last service to be held at
Parkeston will be at 10.45am on
the 5th. May. A suggestion has
been made that churches close
their worship that morning and
join Parkeston to celebrate their
witness in that community. The
Leadership Team are agreed that
we at Dovercourt Central Church
should join our friends that morn-
ing and we invite you all to share
this service.
There was other news of a closure
in that Little Clacton Methodist
Church is to close at the end of
August 2013.
The Easter offering envelopes
are available should you feel
able to contribute and the
service to celebrate this is
on the 1st. May at Great
Bentley Methodist Church
– notice on the shutter
with more details.

Bible in a Year - Readings for April 2013
A husband and wife were arguing over whose turn it was to make a cup of tea. The
wife was adamant that it was her beloved’s duty, according to the Bible.
“Why?” he asked her.
She reached for her Bible, opened it and pointed to triumphantly.
“There,” she said. “Hebrews!”
