COMPETITION DIOMEDE / This site for an international border crossing lies at the juncture of the International Date Line and the US/Russia border between the Diomede Islands in Alaska. At the convergence of two nations, two hemispheres, and two days is a wind driven fulcrum composed of a mirror reflecting the conditions of both directions. Exhibited in “Competition Diomede” at MoMA / The Clocktower Gallery, NY, P.S. 1, New York, San Francisco Art Institute and traveling exhibition in Seattle, Angeles, Moscow, Leningrad, Minsk, Tashkent, Montreal, from 1989 to 1990.
