E-MAILElectronic mail or also known as “e-mail” is

a system invented to send and receive messages through a computer network or electronically. It is done in between personal computers and/or electronic gadgets. In E-mail, it is does not require the receiver to be online thus, making it asynchronous.

WIKI

Wiki is a web application in which people are allowed to add, delete and modify content with others people’s collaboration. The most popular wiki today is Wikipedia.

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

It is an online service in which you can bookmark websites not on your web browser but in the web itself. It is also a way for the user to share and discover more links about different topics like politics, sports and technology. Examples of these are Digg and Reddit.

HTMLHyperText Markup Language or

“HTML”is the language used to create documents on the World Wide Web. It also defines the structure and design of the website using different tags and attributes.

PODCAST

Podcasts are digital media files that are produced and released in series. You may subscribe to different podcasts relative to your interests regarding certain topics. You may download media from podcasts and use it whenever you want.

VoIPVoice over Internet Protocol or

“VoIP” is the having phone service through the internet in a much lower cost compared to having service through traditional phone service. Best examples of VoIP are Skype and Viber.

ONLINE CHAT

Online Chat is a type of communication in which internet access is required. It offers real-time instant text messaging between two or more users in a chat room. Examples of Online Chat applications are Yahoo! Messenger, Facebook and MSN.

WWW

The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that support specially formatted documents. These documents are formatted using HTML that supports links, media and graphics. Web browsers are present for easy access in the World Wide Web.

STREAMING

Streaming is the use of online media like songs, videos in real time. The speed of streaming depends on the internet connection of a computer. ‘Buffering’ is a common term related to streaming.

BLOG

A blog is a journal or diary that are found online. You may have your own website for your blog entries or you may use websites that offer blogging services for free. Popular websites for blogging are Tumblr, Blogger and Twitter (micro-blogging)

Social Networking is an online platform that focuses on building of social relations among people who share interests, similarities, etc. Famous examples of sites for social networking are Facebook, Google + and Instagram.

URL

Uniform Resource Locator or “URL” is a unique address for a file that is accessible in the internet. This may be encoded in a web browser to go to a specific website.

WEB FEED

A web feed is a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. Web feeds allow user to subscribe to stay updated.
