Objectives� Describe three gene variations affecting drug response that are ready for clinical use now.� List at least three barriers to clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics.� Articulate at least three clinical manifestations of seasonal and pandemic influenza.� Describe the medical plan of care including prevention and management of complications for influenza.� Describe at least three components of the CDC’s strategy to manage and mitigate the H1N1 pandemic.� Identify three common causes of anemia, including differential diagnoses, and indications for referral and management.� Identify the urgent initial evaluation of children with suspected leukemia or lymphoma� Identify the most common oncologic emergencies presenting to primary care providers� Describe initial management of children with leukemia or lymphoma� Discuss the prognosis of children with hematologic cancers.� Identify at least three benefits to adapting evidence based practice.� Describe the “medication use system,” as it relates to the child at home.� Identify the types of (reported) errors that are encountered with children at home.� Examine possible contributory factors related to errors at home.� Describe approaches which have been associated with minimizing the risk of errors and improving outcomes with
