Coherence The items that are the focal point of the poster are key items throughout the film, therefore giving the audience an insight into the diagesis of the film.

This polysemy creates a sense of confusion, therefore creating a sense of mystery and conveying the genre.
The table-tennis bat is in he centre of the poster and therefore what the audience is drawn to first. This also creates confusion and it is an unthreatening piece of sports equipment, but in this sense appears to be a weapon, conveying danger.
