Academic Achievement
Goal: to prepare every student to achieve after high school 75% of Teachers have advanced degrees 15 : 1 Student to teacher ratio means smaller more inclusive
classes. 3nd in Math on MAP and 4th in Communication Arts. 2nd overall in
SLPS 90% senior acceptance to college for class of 2008 Class of 2008 earned over $2 Million in Scholarships. 91% attendance year round Advanced Placement Classes: AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP English
Language, AP US History, AP World History, AP English Literature.
Leadership Potential
Goal: to instill a sense of service, self-esteem and purpose Leadership positions earned through merit, grades,
citizenship, and moral character. Regimental Staff is composed entirely of top level senior
cadets and select juniors. The only free standing public NJROTC academy Over a decade of Distinguished Unit Status from Chief of
Naval Education and Training 9 attendees to US Naval Academy and 2 and to the Coast
Guard Academy
School Activities
Goal: to promote fellowship, sportsmanship and sense of accomplishment Year-round sports (baseball, basketball, football,
soccer, tennis, track, volleyball, wrestling) Clubs (art, band, chess, choir, debate, newspaper,
yearbook, and whatever interests the students) Field Trips (Fort de Chartres, Washington, D.C.,
Leonard Wood, Jefferson City, Scott AFB) Military (St. Louis City Color Guard, Exhibition Drill
