Verbal Summary
• Protein synthesis begins in the nucleus with DNA and is called
Transcription. The DNA is untwined by RNA polymerase and then a
mRNA strand is created. The mRNA travels outside the cell into
the cytoplasm and onto the second step of protein synthesis
called translation. The mRNA stand goes to a ribosome and bonds
with it. Then tRNA comes with an anti codon and an amino acid
and goes through the chain of mRNA. Then at the end of the chain
a stop codon comes without an amino acid and ends the chain of
amino acids that are chained together by peptide bonds. The
amino acids then form together into a tertiary structure.
