Bell Ringer Use the word you wrote down and share

it with the person sitting next to you. Discuss how that word describes their summer. Listen closely because you may be called on to share about their summer. You have two minutes. Go!

Class Expectations Please refer to the poster on the right side of the

classroom. It tells us exactly how we are

expected to behave and what we are to DO in class. If you ever feel unsure refer to these expectations. I expect everyone to succeed and

the best way is to follow through and DO the right thing.

Let’s review. Also…When I need your attention I will…

Class Discussion Now that we all know what is expected of

us it is your turn to define and take a part in these expectations. Each of you will be assigned an expectation. You must share either what this expectation looks like or why it is important. You may simply share it orally, write it down, act it out, draw it, etc. However you choose your trio or pair has three minutes to decide how you might present this. Go!

Class and Team Overview What will we learn? Why is this important? How will I be graded? What about homework? Techno-what? Who is Collin’s?

that you took away from learning about the layout and expectations of this class. You have 1 minute. GO!

coming to Hershey- I have been published in

Educational Magazines and newspapers

- I love people, helping them, listening to them, and that is why I am a teacher

- I plan to have an awesome year with my awesome students

- I got married this summer

Class Survey Now that I’ve shared, it is time for you

to share a little about yourself. Please fill out the paper with some info so I can get to know you better. I will tell you when time is up.

Reflection This is your last chance exit ticket! Please do a 3-2-1 on the back of your survey

telling me 3 things you are excited for this year or want

to learn this year. 2 things you are expected to do in Mrs.

Thompson’s class. 1 thing you are confused about or still have a

question about. You have 3 minutes. GO!

Entering Procedures Students will enter by walking and come

with all necessary items. Students will sit down. Students will review the daily agenda on the

board. Students will take out necessary items to

complete the bell ringer, quietly. Students will wait for teacher to share the

bell ringer before talking. All students should be silently working.

Exiting Procedures Wait for teacher to inform you class is

over. Quietly pack up materials. Pick up and throw away any trash

around or on your desk. Push in chair and silently stand behind it

waiting for teacher to dismiss you.

Homework What is your goal for this school year?

Please write it down and say why. Be prepared to share tomorrow during class.

Please have parents sign and complete all forms.
