26 Kimlau Arch & Lin Zexu Statue Chatham Square – The Kimlau Memorial Arch was erected in 1961 to honor service members of Chinese ancestry who died serving their country. Next to the arch is a bronze statue of Lin Zexu, an official of the Qing dynasty who fought to ban opium.
27 Manhattan Bridge Canal & BoweryOpened in1909 and designed by Leon Moisseiff, the bridge is 1,470 ft long with a walkway and bikeway.
28 Mahayana Buddhist Temple 133 Canal StNew York City’s largest Buddhist temple contains a16-foot-tall gold statue or the Buddha, prints pictures depicting the life of the Buddha, and provides spaces for families to pay tribute to deceased relatives.
