Technology is integrated into foundation area TEKS, and activities are separated by subject and grade. All Technology Applications TEKS are met K-8; high school campuses offer and teach at least 4 Technology Applications Courses

Educator Preparation and Development

• Chavez was assessed at Advanced Tech • Only 26.8% of Texas Schools (2170 of

8087) were Advanced Tech

Advanced Tech in this Key Area means there is integration of technology into teaching and learning. There is use of online resources regularly. 60% of educators meet SBEC standards. Administrators recognize and identify exemplary use of technology. 25-29% of technology budget is allocated for professional development.

Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support

• Chavez was assessed at Target Tech• Only 4.9% of Texas schools (399 of 8087)

were Advanced tech

Target Tech in this Key Area means that the campus plan is focused on student success and is supported by the board and administration. There is one technical support person to every 350 computers. Campus instructional support staff, Technology Allotment, e-Rate, state and federal competitive grants, and local funding are available.

Infrastructure for Technology

• Only 7.6% of Texas Schools (612 of 8087) were Advanced Tech

Target Tech in this Key Area means there is on-demand access for every student, direct connectivity available in all rooms, and web-based resources in multiple rooms. All rooms are connected to WAN. They are fully equipped with appropriate technology.
