The PURPOSE of the system

• Significantly reduce the administrative burden on truckers and of Ministry of Transport and Communication

• Put end to a distribution system that has been perceived as non-transparent, subjective and corruptive.

The USERS

• Used by 3400 transport companies registered in the Republic of Macedonia

• The system is mandatory for all transporters in Macedonia and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Application functionalities

• All applications submitted electronically

• The system automatically checks all information against other data bases

• Automated evaluation of the applications and allocation of licenses

• Monitoring of the licenses usage

• Complete automation of the Ministry back office

• Periodic re-distributions of licenses based on the usage

• Updated database of all transport companies

Specific Benefits

• The system fights fraud by cross-checking license applications against multiple databases housing trucking data, making it harder for any single agency to falsify information

• The transparency has given Macedonian truck owners confidence to update their fleets by hundreds of new vehicles per year, whereas before they bought just tens of new trucks annually

• Since 2007, the entire process of license distribution has been online
