Saying what is happening:

Quick Review of The Present Progressive Tense

Present Participle

The present participle is the –ing form of the verb.

It is formed by removing the infinitive ending of the verb: hablar > habl-

Then add the correct present participle ending: habl- > hablando = speaking

Present Participles

-ar verbs: hablar – hablando = speaking -er verbs: comer – comiendo = eating -ir verbs: vivir – viviendo = living

* There are only 2 endings: -ando and -iendo

( -er and –ir verbs are alike)
