CAPE FLATS ALIVE AND WELL

Welcome to the very fi rst issue of Cape Flats Live Magazine. Finally we

have a magazine to call our own! The Team and I are on a mission to

bring you the best of what the Cape Flats has to off er and to showcase

the positive things that usually go unpublished.

You are probably asking, “Why a magazine for the Cape Flats?” Well,

daily we are bombarded with negative, terrible and even evil news. We,

the Team of the Cape Flats Live Magazine have decided to do the op-

posite – we want to be diff erent. We want to bombard our readers with

the good, the positive and the beautiful to be found on The Cape Flats.

Our magazine is divided into three parts. The Cape – A lifestyle compo-

nent, which focuses on trends ranging from fashion to food and health,

brought together as only we Capetonians can. The Flats – Contains

community centered articles and highlights people and institutions

that are making a diff erence right here at home; and Live – This seg-

ment will keep you up to date by showcasing the latest and best in fi lm,

art, sports and even technology.

In this issue we focus on Woman’s Month and pay tribute to amazing

homegrown women. We bake delicious goodies, get our hands dirty

with pre-spring pruning and chat with the fabulous Saskia Falken.

The Team hopes you will enjoy the journey with us as we explore the

best The Cape Flats has to off er.
