FORWARD DATES

Term 1

COVID UPDATE

Just when the students were settling back in to school routine we have had

another lockdown. Like everyone else we are eagerly awaiting the Premier’s

announcement as to when students can return to school. We have left the

remote and flexible learning as a ‘light touch’ for this week. If lockdown

continues next week we will commence more formal learning on Google

Meets. Obviously we are hoping to have all students back this Thursday.

Last year demonstrated what a resilient community we are. If we need to

go back to remote and flexible learning I know that we can successfully

achieve this!

PARENT’S ASSOCIATION AGM

The Parent’s Association Annual General Meeting that was to be held in the

staffroom on Monday 15th of February at 9:15 am has been postponed. I

am not prepared to reschedule until we have further information in relation

to the current lockdown.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our last School Council meeting with the current School Council is next

Wednesday at 6pm. This will go ahead. We will determine whether this is a

zoom meeting or in person as it gets closer.

ASSEMBLY

The whole school assembly was called off at the last minute last week.

Thank you to everyone for being so understanding. We are super keen to

have this assembly as soon as possible so that we can give out our grade six

leadership badges.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE

Parent teacher conferences were meant to take place this week. These will

now be on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd of March. We are waiting to

confirm if these will be in person or remote.

SENIOR SCHOOL CAMP

The Senior School camp went ahead last week. I spoke to several students and they loved it! I really

enjoyed reading some of their written responses about camp highlights. A huge thank you to Mrs

Sibly and Miss Pohlner for organising the camp and to all of the staff for giving up their time after

hours.

PRINCIPAL HIGHLIGHT

There is no doubt that the highlight of my day is always when students are sent up to my office to

share their great work with me. This can be some writing, reading a story, art or maths. I will drop

almost anything to listen to these students and share a sticker or two. Last week I was so impressed

with the standard of the work that the children were sharing. There is some awesome teaching and

learning taking place at our school.
