How do we create a piece of art from a book?

If you take something Ordinary… change it up and add some elements…..

EXRAORDINARY!

For this Project you will…..

•Create a non-objectional sculpture out of a modified book•Alter/deconstruct a book by adding, folding, cutting parts, and adding elements, etc.•Paint or Draw on it to make it more interesting and unify your idea/theme•Use AT LEAST 3 Elements and Principles of Design

Materials:-Well put together hard bound book-Scissors-Glue-Pens, Paint, Brushes, Pencils, Sharpies, Crayons, Markers-Ribbon, Buttons, Beads, String, Yarn-Anything you clearThrough your teacher-Hole Punches or crazy scissors

How to begin…

•Experiment by manipulating paper, bend, fold, and cut it. Bend your book to see how you want to position it.

•Sketch AT LEAST 2 ideas in your sketchbook of different ideas you wish to pursue.

•Research artists if needed

•Create AT LEAST one experimental paige in your sketchbook. (This may be based on any theme. This should be your chance to trydifferent techniques.)

Do not copy your neighbor or ask Mrs. Piercy for ideas.

You will be graded on:-Creativity-Creating a Non-Objective Piece-Problem solving-Creative Thinking-Sketchbook Planning-Complete Composition

If your piece is lost or ruined you will receive a ZERO. If you copy or have someone else do your work… ZERO!Please be proud of your work and take good care of it.
