Maiden Voyage of the BoleroTo ‘Tingling Point’ and Deosari

Heading out the remarkably broad Tehri Road…

…and stopping to shoot some photos

Views from Tingling Point did not disappoint!

Bandarpunch peaks, always so photogenic—especially from Tingling Point!

Intrepid photographer Will with his artistic eye!

Tingling camera crew!

On the road back toward the Aglar River from Tingling Pass. This was shot for dramatic effect. Most of the road was MUCH better than this!

Looking down the Aglar River Valley toward Thaytur. ‘Tingling Point’ is situated in a pass on the Nag Tibba ridge. Descending the other side takes you to the Ganges, not too far downstream from Uttarkashi.

Moving furniture is a tough job in the mountains, but someone has to do it!

Lining up for gas cylindars in front of the pakora man in the village of Bhawan.

Road makingin Garhwal -- 2014

The road above Thaytur toward Deosari

This helpful hard working woman knew exactly how far it was to Deosari.

Finally, the old foot path through the deodar forest to Deosari!

The rebuilt Deosari Temple

Deosari Forest Rest House, or “dak bungalow” – very much as it was when built, almost certainly by the British before independence.

Chowkidar

Neither Paul nor Will remembers this eucalyptus tree at Deosari, but it probably wasn’t very big 50 years ago, if it was there at all!

Much has changed in the Garhwal over the past 50 years, but this will ever be a place of indescribable beauty!
