Artistic Statementy Body of Work revolves around the idea of “Change.”

In the course of this concentration, I studied how different people respond to this idea and how a simple, concrete word affects our thinking. I wanted to find a way of emulating the “stream of consciousness” style I had studied in English class. I asked my classmates for their help in writing down all the words and ideas that came to mind upon thinking the word “Change.” I chose four of these brainstorms with which to design a concentration piece. Each piece features the same word “Change” and a timeline, representing each person’s similar starting point. I used both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to compile images of my own creation, photographs, colours and textures to create the stream of consciousness feel. As I created this Body of Work, I learned a lot about my own artistic style and thinking as I studied my classmates’ ideas.
