INNOVATION +CONSUMERS =DISRUPTION

DISRUPTION INEVERY INDUSTRY

In 2012, there were 14 billion instances of pirated content online – movies & TV shows

If cable operators drop TV service, charging only for broadband, channel owners would have to sell directly to the public or through Web outlets.

Netflix has 29 million paying subscribers and Aereo lets users watch broadcast channels via the Internet. If cable companies lose content, they can still charge for Internet access. What about satellite TV providers like Direct TV and Dish Network that do not offer broadband?

Google is expanding its ultra fast Internet offering, Google Fiber. But Google is a threat in another way, Chromecast will give it data about users viewing habits, which it will sell to advertisers.

Netflix has as many subscribers as Time Warner Cable and its stock increased 25% in one day. In the last 12 months, paid TV has lost nearly

1 million subscribers.
