Lipids

Lipids are are non-polar (hydrophobic) compounds, soluble in organic solvents.

• Most membrane lipids are amphipathic, having a non-polar end and a polar end.

• Biomoleculesthatcontainfattyacidsorasteroidnucleus.

• NamedfortheGreekwordlipos,whichmeans“fat.”
