Auxiliary President’s Message
Sisters,
Well we are off again—the start of a new Eagle year!
On June 3rd we have the outdoor-based Food-N-Fun! It’s a fundraiser for the Aerie Home. We hope you will come down and join us. June 8-10 is the Nebraska State Convention in Norfolk. June 18th is the Father’s Day Breakfast. We also have all our other meals throughout the month.
I would like to remind all of you to please sign in when you come into the Aerie Home. From the back door, this is the log to the right of the Quarter Daily Book—- NOT the Quarter Dai-ly Book. At the front door, this is the first book on your right. It is VERY important that we as members remember to sign in. Also, if you bring in a guest, remember to sign them in as well.
We can always use your help, your ideas, and your company.
Fraternally,
Barb Romero
Madam President
Aerie President’s Message Brothers,
A new year is upon us! I look forward to this upcoming year and serving as the Aerie president. As it is a new year, I encourage all brothers to attend the Aerie Meetings. This is your chance to have your voice heard. The meetings take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month, unless otherwise notified. These are listed on calendars that are posted in the club and in the newsletter calendar.
A saying I am always told is: “If you want to complain about what's happening, bring a solution. Together we will work for the better.” The same saying applies here. It's our club. We can make it more prosperous. It will take teamwork and hard-working volunteers. The more you put into our home, the more you will get out of being a Eagle. If you want to get involved, talk with your officers! Communication is key. With that being stated, I am excited to see what changes this year will bring. Good luck to all of the seated officers, I have no doubt we will continue the positive changes that have been taking place.
Let the ride begin!
Your Worthy President,
Zachary Nisley
Nana’s Corner
Welcome to Nana’s Corner. Each month you will find a little sass, a little knowledge and hopefully a little bit of fun as well. Summertime Refreshment – Strawberry Lem-onade
Ingredients 4 cups fresh lemon juice
3 cups sugar 1 bag frozen strawberries
Squeeze the lemons and pour the juice into a pitch-er. Mix together the sugar with 3 cups water and stir to dissolve to make syrup. Add the syrup to the lemon juice and top it up with 8 cups water. Taste to make sure it’s sweet enough for you, add the straw-berries. Mix the lemonade together and let chill in the fridge. For the adults, add 1 1/2 ounces vodka to each glass (You can substitute raspberries for strawberries but remember they are tart and you June need to increase the sugar.) Fill mason jars with ice cubes and top them off with the lemonade

Editorial Comment
Congratulations to the new officers of Aerie and Auxiliary 3912. May your 2017-2018 year be a successful and productive year.
The success of our Aerie home is attributed to the dedication and hard work of MANY of our members, volunteers and officers, alike. We have many volunteers, who, without them, the success of our visions cannot be achieved. At the same time, it is the same off icers and volunteers, week after week, month after month, who are always there to pitch in. These same individuals all strive to prepare and provide appealing meals for ALL to enjoy (members and non-members alike). They are also the same group of individuals who are tirelessly there to support open door functions to recruit new members, work to promote Open Air Festivals and Pub Crawls, holiday dinners, and mainte-nance on all of our aging facilities. The endless dedication of the few have made it possible for the many to enjoy.
During the past year, negative comments such as the following have been expressed:
“Why should I renew my membership when we have so many open door functions?” “Why don’t we have more menu varieties for dinners instead of the same old menu?” “Why did we stop the Saturday lunches?”
The answers to these questions as well as others alike – can simply be answered by You – our Members. While the officers and volun-teers can strive to make a difference, it takes ALL of our membership to make 3912 a success. We have sent out surveys to our members asking for assistance to update and maintain the Aerie home. We have asked for input on menu items for breakfast and dinner functions. Responses have been minimal—at best.
Many times – those who come into our Aerie home are not members. Without those who come to support during an “Open” function, our goal might not have been achieved the past couple of years. As a result of these “Open” functions, we continually gain new members as well as the ability to keep the lights on. New members have joined who never realized that we even existed in our building!
The point here is simple: As stated before, without the support of our ENTIRE membership, we will not succeed. We NEED every mem-ber’s support – in whatever capacity you are able – in order to succeed. As a 35-year member, volunteer, and officer – I look to our mem-bership for your support. Without our members support, we may as well just close the doors. These are my feelings – as the Editor of the 3912 newsletter, and may / may not reflect the same sentiment of other officers. I invite your comments – come down to the Aerie home and let’s discuss it. The solution to the continued success of 3912 is up to you – our membership.
