Excavations of Mohenjo-Daro show clearly that decline had set in about 1800BC and the Indus Valley cities were abandoned sometime shortly thereafter.
Archaeologists now they believe that this civilization suffered “systems failure”- the breakdown of the fragile interrelationship of the political, social, and economic systems that sustain order and prosperity.
