SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

Aquatic Plant Management (APM): Requirements for private ponds

Private pond defined by law

NR107.11 (3)(a) A private pond is a body of water located entirely on the land

of an applicant, with no surface water discharge or a discharge that can be controlled to prevent chemical loss, and without access by the public.

Submit to the central intake

Section III: Fees A flat $20 fee for private ponds

Section IV: Reasons for aquatic plant control Goal, nuisance and target plants

Section V: Chemical control Alternatives, list of chemicals, method, and results of treatment

Section VI: Applicant responsibilities and certification Signature

Section VII: WPDES coverage request Is not currently accepted electronically

Fee Submitted

A $20 fee for private ponds Land owner has 1 pond on his property = $20 Land owner has 5 ponds on his property = $20

Once received, central intake will…

Review for completeness Assign an ID number Designates an expiration date Documents payment amount and send check to financing Scan into SharePoint and send to reviewer

Once Approved

A letter of approval will be mailed to the applicant with the signed permit

The permit is returned to whomever mailed it in, unless otherwise noted

Applicant must carry the permit when applying treatment

The permit is on the last page of the application

Once Approved

6 Signs will also be mailed unless otherwise noted Must be filled out and posted during application

After Treatment

30 days after treatment occurs, a treatment record needs to be sent to central intake

If multiple treatment occurs on the same site, multiple treatment records need to be sent in

The treatment records will be placed in SharePoint
