• Computer Science degree My CV AiA research group Some projects

• Meteosafety• NEDPIC• DEMANAT• CTMSimAgent

24

Some projects Meteosafety

Objective• To optimize the efficiency of detector/actuators to improve road

safety in adverse weather situations.

Some projects Meteosafety

Two levels of intelligence

26

Some projectsMeteosafety

Local system• Meteo station• URS• VMS and/or RDS• One or more DCS

27

Some projects Meteosafety

MAS architecture

28

Some projects NEDPIC: Distributed multi-agent negotiation

model for the intelligent parking trucks. Objective

• To study and specify an integral model for the intelligent truck parking management.

• It takes into account the constraints:– Drivers– Routes and rest areas– Dangerous goods

• It will establish criteria for collective optimization and traffic management.

• To improve both the individual and collective management of parking areas.

Collaboration between UJI and UV

29

Some projects  NEDPIC: two subprojects

New methodology for the definition of ontologies recommendations (W3C, OWL 2) • A new ontological description of the actors involved in

the ITP management will be created An innovative multi-agent system to support the

development of ITP management strategies • Compatible with the current V2V and V2I

communication architectures. • A new negotiation protocol will be created

– based on fuzzy decision algorithms and dynamic prioritization criteria for each scenario (individual, section, or network)

30

Some projects DEMANAT. A MAS environment for

automated negotiation in traffic. Objectives

• A new automated negotiation protocol to support the management of no urban incidences

31

Some projects CTMSimAgent: Using Agents to improve

Traffic simulators Collaboration between UJI and UWB Objective

• Improve the Meteosafety MAS with a traffic forecast agent.

• Real time and off line Request

• Good and Open source traffic simulator 1st approach

• CTSIM simulator

32

Some projects CTMSimAgent

Based on Cell Transmission Model (CTM) Advantages

• It takes about a minute to simulate one day’s operation of a freeway.

• Open source• Good results

Disadvantages• Needs Matlab• Only simulates a single freeway (with various on-ramps

and off-ramps) i.e. the simulation for a road network is not supported.

33

Some projects CTMSimAgent

Implementation• Java• Jade MAS platform

Agent• It controls CTMSim and Matlab with a wrapping M-script• It uses JMatIO for work with Matlab files• The whole simulation process (input, process and results)

are in the agent• It is quite simple and independent• The input parameters could be provided by meteosafety

agents

34

Some projects CTMSimAgent: Testing the agents.

35

Some projects CTMSimAgent

Simulations1. R1 normal traffic, R2 normal traffic 2. R1 high traffic, R2 normal traffic 3. R1 normal traffic, R2 normal traffic

» Increase of 20% in off-ramp p1

4. R1 hight traffic, R2 normal traffic» Increase of 40% in off-ramp

5. R1 hight traffic, R2 normal traffic» Increase of 40% in off-ramp P1» Increase of 40% in on ramp P2

36

Some projects CTMSimAgent

Results are positives• Traffic simulation results are similar to AIMSUM

simulator results.• Using CTMSimAgents a road network could be

simulated• It could be integrated in other MAS platforms, like

Meteosafety A paper for a conference/journal is being

prepared.
