ACTION FOR ARTISTIC CREATIVITY
IBL ART GALLERY, MAURITIUS (9 – 21 DECEMBER 2011)
"Nature does many things the way I do, but she hides them!" - Pablo Picasso

It is my pleasure to congratulate Action for Artistic Creativity (AAC) and its Chairperson, Mr. Dev Chooramun, for the Eco-Living exhibit. Such exhibit has gathered artists from Australia, Brazil, Chile, Estonia, France, Mexico, Norway, Seychelles Islands, South Africa, Tunisia and Mauritius and Rodrigues Islands.
This exhibit includes artists committed with the environment and who are worried to preserve and make awareness of the conservation and care of life on Earth, through their art.
Art is the universal form of expression. Through art, people from different cultures and languages can relate and communicate; this is why this exhibit is so relevant and important.
I am sure this exhibit will be a success for its organizer and all participating artists.
Congratulations!
Rosa Maria Burillo V.President of IAA- AIAP/UNESCO

A Leader in Eco-living
The vulture is a leader in Eco-living. Disposing of waste and
recycling. Eco-living is a mind shift for us human beings, not only to
protect nature but to protect all of nature. Although local tribes see the vulture as a symbol of
purification and as a symbol of promise that all hardship is
temporary and necessary for a higher purpose, this beautiful
creature usually stands in last line when it comes to conservation.

Lights of Hope
Eco-living to me means a harmonious and balanced
relationship between man and nature, with man needing
nature to sustain him adn nature needing man for conservation. I used lights and lightbulbs in my
work to symbolise hope in this instance the hope that eco-living
will result, in a better, cleaner earth for future generations.

The Polarity of Nature
Having attempted to eradicate and control nature, to discount
its blessings, we are all the more shocked by its destruction. For
most of us, nature is not the birth of a child, the bounty of food, or
health… nature is a hurricane, an earthquake, a flood, or and illness. Traditional peoples living in nature,
as a part of nature are naturally attuned to its ways. They know
the lesson of nature. It’s polarity: life/death, black/white, gain/
loss – that’s’the way of nature is the way of sacrifices. Creation is
suffering…whether we like it or not nature’s way is our way…

Le Grand Migration
‘Le grand migration’ is an analogy to the Ark of Noah.
Disturbance in the ecosystem, pollution, deforestation and other
natural calamities are driving many creatures out of their natural
habitat. In their fight for survival, here we see animals migrating in
search of new living spaces.

Last Green Magic
Our world is finite. The fascinating beauty that it has is
precious and irreplaceable. Hence, my artwork shows that everyday the Earth is losing its
adorable resources and the magical feeling with nature. This feeling is a bouquet of gift to mankind that we are
dropping down.

The Tree
This painting is about the oneness and togetherness of people, flora
and fauna with Mother Nature. Here the great banyan tree with its luxuriant foliage and rich attractive
colors is rising majestically in the open and hospitable wilderness
of nature and has extended its inviting arms to people(man,
woman, children) and animal .The latter are basking peacefully in the warmth of its generous lap and are enjoying in the shade of its melody
and the splendor of its lush green growth. The cow has lost herself
in this haven of simplicity and heavenly pleasure.

The power of trees to hold water and release it slowly is put into evidence through this hanging

the connection to nature

Green Bath
As our natural resources need to be properly respected by making
good use of them without any abuse, Eco-living allows us to
become aware of our green environment and invite us to live a natual life. In this context, my

to nature which is in fact very gratifying for us.

L'Union

Miracle Gift
Life is a gift given to every human being in this world regardless his name, culture or religion
by the almighty. He is the only one beyond our thoughts, he
has created this world with their natural beauties as to the human
beings to live peacefully. We should always be thankful to him,
who gives us oxygen for breath as gift freely though the nature. It comes silently and brings lots
without any human intervention. It is the most beautiful rhythm. It fills
our heart and we are living.
