Who are we?

ACOG, the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments is an association of cities, towns and counties in the Central Oklahoma area.

ACOG works on mobility, public safety and quality of life issues that impact the region.

COGs

ACOG is a “council of governments,” or “COG” aka: regional council, planning association, substate agency.

There are 11 COGS in the state. Each varies slightly, depending on the makeup of their constituencies.

Economic Development District (EDD)

For some member cities and counties to be eligible for EDA funding, Central Oklahoma needs to become an Economic Development District.

ACOG is the only COG in the state of Oklahoma that is not (currently) designated an EDD.

About U.S. EDA:

Economic Development Administration operates under U.S. Department of Commerce.

EDA’s mission: To lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competetiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.

A CEDS plan is regional Comprehensive Conduit for data analysis Serves as a platform to coordinate

economic development activities Helps communities become eligible for

EDA funding.
