Éval Manigat, world music pioneer in

QuébecÉval Manigat introduced carribean and latin funk to the musical community of Montreal. He was the co-founder and musical assistant of two of the most famous haitian ensembles, Tropicana and Weber Sicot. He especially loved to write for brass sections . Eval Manigat was our Quincy Jones. His bass playing had the groove that makes one dance and feel alive.

A music school in St-Marc, Haiti

Eval went back to Haïti in 2006 to start a school where an international musical language could be taught, like the one he had developped during the 40 years of his musical career. His principal goal was to train a future generation of musicians and music teachers.

Our sincere desire today is to achieve this wonderful project.

L’Académie musicale de St-Marc in a secondary school is beneficial because

it gives us the possibily to train youngsters as well as young adults

that are already musicians. Haïti is full of talented individuals, but this

country always lacked the full support of his government.

L’Académie présently needs a few elements to achieve its goals . We also invite professionnal music teachers to go to Haïti and

participate in this unusual teaching experience !!!!!!
