This course runs throughout the academic year and comprises of 7 twilight session rotating
around host schools. It will provide participants the opportunity to consider and develop the
skills needed to move into a leadership role through a series of workshops and in-school
opportunities.

reflect on the aspects of leadership through a range of practical activities
work collaboratively with new teachers across the North Herts Teaching Alliance
Participants will take part in a classroom based action research project during which they will
have the opportunity to jointly plan, team teach, share resources and visit each other’s
school.
About our Aspiring Senior Leaders Programme
Who is it for?
This course is designed for experienced middle leaders looking to apply for senior leadership
roles or someone new to the senior leadership role.
Core Objectives
On this programme participants will:
Prepare middle leaders to make the move to senior leadership and lead whole school
innovation
Consider and develop the skills needed to move into a leadership role through a series of
workshops and in-school opportunities
Gain practical experience of what the senior leadership role involves
In addition to the Twilight participants will
also have the opportunity to experience:
Senior Leadership Meetings (in their own
school)
Developing and leading a whole school/
cross school project (presented at the
final meeting)
Support with writing applications and
preparing for interviews
A mentor in their own school with half-
termly meetings to discuss progress
