DESCRIPTION

Blessing can be commanded; healing can be commanded but not growth. Growth cannot be a miracle; it has to be a process. The process may be enhanced (Leviticus 25:21), hence the need to know the laws of growth, the second law building on the first, the third on the second etc.

7 laws of growth

Introduction …

Growth was in the plan of God at the beginning

Growth means fulfilling your full potential.

Living things should grow.

God has encoded the law of growth in nature (Genesis 1:11-13).

Introduction…

Growth is the divine essence packed in man, fulfilled in marriage (Genesis 1:26-28), and in the mandate of man on the earth.Genesis 2:15- man was to enhance growth and prevent hindrances to it in the garden of Eden.

Introduction…

Growth is smooth in obedience and hard in disobedience (Genesis 3:17-19). Growth is designed to give satisfaction, lack of growth breeds frustration. God is interested in growth (John 15:1-6). It is the principle of the kingdom (Matthew 13:3, 11, 24, 31-33).

1.Growth cannot be forced (1Corinthians 3:6-15)

2.Growth is about process not outcome (Ephesians 4:11-16)

3. Growth is about investment

…It is not firstly about getting (2Timothy 2:5-6)

…It is about service, commitment, satisfaction of customer in business (expanding your service, not increase demand for money), (what kind of emotion do customers leave with?)

…it is about meeting the spiritual needs of people in ministry and your sacrifice for them

(John 3:16, 12:32-33)

…It is about consistency (repetition to the point of boredom)

4.Growth is about focus (not being distracted) (1Kings 20:38-42,

Philippians 3:12-14)

... focus is a test of love. What you love, what you are passionate about, you

tend focus on and therefore grow in. (Revelation 2:4-5)

5. Growth is about doing your best and leaving the rest (e.g. to God in the place of prayer)

Paul - Galatians 4:19, Acts 20:17-36; Jesus- Mark 1:30-38, Matthew 9:35-38.

…The question is: have you done or are you doing your best?

(1Cor9:24-27)

6. Growth is about quality (1Corinthians 3:6-15)

…Quality is about what is unique (not making a copy).

…I am not obliged to do what you are doing but what God is showing me.

…There is a race set before you which defines the quality you are supposed to deliver.

…There are probably temples in Egypt, but God wanted something else from Moses (Exodus 25:9)

7. Growth is about quantity (Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:47, 6:1-7)

How God modelled the 7 laws of growth…

He set up order and structure on the earth, so that growth becomes the inevitable outcome (law 2).

He did his best and left the rest in the creation of man and his subsequent disobedience (law 5)

How God modelled the 7 laws of growth…

When he created the earth, he said it was good (quality) (law 6) He invested Jesus- (John 12:24) (laws 3 and 7)Jesus sent men to the ends of the earth to make disciples (quantity and quality) Matthew 28:18-20 (6, 7)

How God modelled the 7 laws of growth…

He is focused on his agenda, cannot be distracted - (Isaiah 63:1-5, 46:10-11) (law 4)

God does not force growth (birth of Isaac and Jesus has to go through full nine months. (law 1)

Conclusion

Blessing can be commanded; healing can be commanded but not growth.

Growth cannot be a miracle; it has to be a process.

The process may be enhanced (Leviticus 25:21), hence the need to know the laws of growth, the second law building on the first, the third on the second etc.
