Karen Marie Gray, daughter of Ronald and Laura Gray of Midway, and Luther Thomas Hurt Jr., son of Luther and Kenneva Hurt of Lexington, were married Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Good Shepherd Parish, Frankfort, with Deacon Tom Snyder offi ciating at the ceremony. Nuptial music was presented by Narisa Lao and Betty Gibson.

The matron of honor was Natasha Marcus, sister of the groom, of Lexington.

Bridesmaids were Stefanie Watts of Lexington; Angela Gray, sister-in-law of the bride, of Louisville, and Shelly Schneidtmiller of Louisville.

The best man was Travis Marcus, bother-in-law of the groom, of Lexington.

Bastolla and Chris Heinmiller, both of Lexington, and Kevin Gray, brother of the bride, of Louisville.

The fl ower girl was Julia Walker, niece of the bride. The ring bearer was Jacob Marcus, nephew of the groom.

The reception was held at the Parish Life Center.

The bride is a graduate of Woodford County High School and Bluegrass Technical Col-lege. She is employed at Hair Revue in Lexington.

The groom is a graduate of Henry Clay High School. He is employed by the Fayette County Schools.

After a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va., the couple resides in Lexington.

THE AMERICAN Home Department of the Wood-ford County Woman’s Club met at the Little House on Lexington Street on March 28. ON MARCH 22, LTJG Steve Wilson, center, graduated from the Navy Supply Corps’ Basic Qualifi cation course at Offi cer Training Command in Newport, R.I. This course is an 18-month program that prepares naval offi -cers for combat service in both fl eet and shore commands around the world. The Navy’s Supply Corps School is responsible for logistics training of military offi cers and enlisted personnel of all services, international offi cers and civilians employed by the Department of Defense. Wilson enlisted in the Navy in 2002 and has served two tours of duty in Iraq (2005 and 2008). During his 2008 deployment he received his offi cer’s commis-sion. Wilson will be promoted to lieutenant on Aug. 1 and is currently the leader of a Norfolk, Va.-based Navy Civil Affairs Team. Wilson lives with his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Emily, in Midway.
