WASTE OBJECTS

How much Waste (Garbage, Trash) is produced in the world?

Waste is a pervasive but unnoticed part of our lives.

Many nations face a looming waste management crisis, as their landfills reach capacity and continue to degrade the environment.

New innovative waste-collection and construction techniques – reduce waste volume and minimise environmental and health impacts.

- Europe produces two billion tons of domestic rubbish every year and only 10% of its waste being recycled .

- Hamburg generated 1.6 millions tons of waste, of which less than 4 percent was recycled. Today, produces only 1.4 million tons and recycles nearly 60 percent of its waste. The UK is estimated to recycle about 17.7% and whereas Austria, approx 60% of its waste being recycled.

- By 2020, the European Union will require member nations to reduce the amount of trash sent to landfills to 35 percent of what it was in 1995.

This website is designed for international students and friends to document their everyday life of recycling, the items that they purchased and consumed, whether they are at home or anywhere they are situated.

‘My b-green bin task is introduced to explore the different types of waste they consumed in 5 days and to study whether recycling action is performed or abandoned in everyone day life.
