This examination aims to promote the use of the Korean language and set a proper path in Korean language learning for overseas Koreans and
foreigners who do not speak Korean as a mother-tongue language.
Level Common Points
1Able to carry out basic conversations related to daily survival skills.
Able to understand and compose simple and useful sentences based on about 800 examples of basic vocabulary and grammar.
2 Able to carry out simple conversations related to daily routines and understand personal and familiar subjects.
3 Able to perform basic linguistic functions necessary to use various public facilities and maintain social relationships.
❖ For Levels 4 to 6, it is difficult to compare TOPIK with the Sogang KLEC courses.
While Sogang KLEC courses focus mainly on speaking practice through speaking-oriented teaching methods, enabling students to effectively improve their communicative skills,
TOPIK consists of writing, reading, and listening tests.

Features
This course is student-centered and with a focus on speaking, featuring a variety of communicative activities geared towards
improving speaking abilities.
In addition to the grammar and vocabulary required for success in the pursuit of academic studies, students
practice the essential academic language skills of writing reports and listening to
lectures, as well as other skills.
This course focuses on improving communicative abilities, and students
can further develop their writing abilities through assigned homework tasks.
This intensive summer program is designed for students who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of Korean culture and communicative abilities in Korean.

How to Apply?
▶ Dormitory applications are generally processed through the website ❖ Website: http://gonzaga.sogang.ac.kr
▶ All applicants should contact their program’s office before applying.
▶ Individual photographs and medical certificates are needed in advance.
Facilities
▶ Each room: bedroom (bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, shoe cabinet, internet cable), restroom, shower room, telephone (incoming calls only)
▶ Each floor: lounge tables, water purifier, public refrigerator
▶ 1st basement floor: cafeteria (300 seats), gym, chapel, microwaves, laundry (charge for usage), ping-pong table
▶ Lobby: internet lounge, security office (parcel reception), mailbox, study room, public printer (charge for usage)
Additional Information
▶ All international students are given priority placement
▶ Students may choose their roommate’s nationality
