Hello Lions!
We made it through the third quarter! As spring break is nearly upon us it reminds me of how quickly the year goes. Before we know it we will be standing out at the stadium watching another class graduate as they head out to conquer the world. The fourth quarter is definitely the busiest and can be the most stressful for everyone. So remember to pause and enjoy it, because it will be over in the blink of an eye.
On April 12th, we have our Open House and we hope you can all come out to see what your kids have been doing in their classes. It is also our Day of the Arts which is a sight to see. Shortly after that we roll into testing season where our students will take their state testes fol-lowed by the Advanced Placement (AP) exams in early May. This is the season for junior prom, senior ball, sen-ior sunset, the end of the year sendoff dance and many more fun activities for our students.
Take some time to wind down over spring break and relax, because when we get back it will be full steam ahead until summer vacation!
Have a great Spring Break!
Your Principal,
Heather Harper

Local Scholarship Applications for Seniors were recently turned in on February 2nd. Letters will be sent home the

Local Scholarship Awards Night is May 22nd @ 7:00 pm in the PAC.
PSAT 10 was held for over 300 sophomores on Wednesday, March 7th. This was a great opportunity for our sopho-
mores to practice and prepare for the regular PSAT exam that they will take as Juniors this coming October. Results should
be available in late April or early May.
Several LMC Application Workshops were held the end of February and early March to assist Seniors with their
LMC application process. The next step is the assessment/testing. These workshops will be held on 4/3, 4/4 & 4/9. Each
day will have workshops at 1:30 and 3:00 pm. Seniors can sign up in the College & Career Center for the day and time that
works best with their schedule.
Community Service Opportunities: We have several opportunities available for students to assist with com-
pleting the community service requirement in the Econ/American Government classes or for students who would like to
take advantage of the opportunities earlier in their high school career. There are opportunities with the City of Brentwood
and the Farmers Market, The Patriot Jet Team Foundation, The Discovery Bay Yacht Club, Churches, and the LHS Track
team needs help at all of the Home track meets. Students can pick up flyers for the above listed opportunities in the Col-
lege & Career Center.
Another ASVAB exam is scheduled for April 4th at 8:30 am in the College & Career Center. The exam is open to 10th,
11th and 12th grade students. This is a great college and career exploration exam that helps students identify their
strengths and interests. It is no longer only used for military admittance. The exam is FREE. Please sign up in the College
& Career Center.
ACT Test Prep Bootcamp: April 11th & 12th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on BOTH days at Heritage High School’s College

“Give What You Can, Take What You Need” – Grief Support
In addition to supporting students with grieving the loss of their peers,
counselors were present during lunch to facilitate a network for students to
support one another. Students process grief in their own way and our “Give
What You Can, Take What You Need” board allowed students to take an
encouraging phrase and/or leave one behind for someone else who needed
encouragement. This activity gave our students a positive platform to support

Our Virtual Enterprise class went to the state competition and
tradeshow and placed in the top 16 schools in California. Virtual Enterprise is a
business simulation course for seniors interested in learning about and experienc-
ing business creation and employment. The class chooses a business idea, forms a
virtual company and then competes in a global marketplace with other schools
worldwide. Students go through every element that real companies do in their for-
mation, writing a business plan and applying for loans. All students are employed
by the company, earning virtual paychecks and gaining significant skills needed for
employment success.
