Time Travel From Native Settlement to Space ExplorationDive into seven floors of world-class interactive exhibits and find out how far technology can take us through time … back to the days of the first known human settlements on this coast and forward to ... who knows? Take a 12,000-year journey, from shipwrecks, treasure hunting, military battles and Ponce de Leon’s landing to today’s commercial fishing, beach environment, surfing, citrus industry, space exploration as well as cruise and cargo business.
Explorations Start Here
At Port Canaveral, you’re in the midst of a unique part of Florida with its own special history, natural environment, wildlife, sports, technology and local culture. Even if you’ve been here before, you’ll find there’s still a lot more to discover about Florida’s famed Space Coast, and the best place to do that is right here.

Jetty Park air-conditioned beach-side cabins
R E C R E AT I O N
Relax and restore or invigorate and explore.
As part of a recent $1.13 million park renovation, Jetty Park’s extensive tent and RV camping facilities have been joined by eight new vacation cabins. Each cabin is 12-feet by 15-feet and sleeps four.
Try our paved and lighted Malcolm E. McLouth Recreation Pier at Jetty Park. Anglers gather here to try their luck at snook, Spanish mackerel, drum and other challenging sport fish. Or check out a daytime or nighttime boat charter.
In Central Florida, we have an abundance of options for turning an idle hour, day or week into a transforming experience. So take a little time before or after your cruise to boost your vacation’s restorative effects.
Claim Your Place in the SunEnjoy one of Port Canaveral’s waterfront parks, which have something for everyone. Four-acre Rodney S. Ketcham Park is a prime stop on the Great Florida Birding Trail, and 35-acre Jetty Park is the perfect place to enjoy the gentle ocean waves. Jetty Park also has lifeguards on duty year-round, an air-conditioned food center and top-notch overnight camping facilities.

Port Canaveral is located on Florida’s Space Coast - home to Kennedy Space Center and a wide variety of attraction choices. Swim, body board, surf or just enjoy the sun on one of the miles of warm Atlantic beaches. Explore the wetlands to see alligators and other unique native species, or tour the Intracoastal Waterways to see dolphins and manatees. Stop by the local museums and historic downtowns and be sure to visit the well-known shopping venues of Cocoa Village, Cocoa Beach Surf Shop and Ron Jon Surf Shop.
One of the Space Coast’s most popular attractions, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, now offers an exciting new reason to visit: the $100 million, 65,000 square-foot home of the space shuttle Atlantis. The orbiter is displayed as if in flight for stunning close-up viewing, while surrounding interactive displays feature major accomplishments of the shuttle program, including the International Space Station and Hubble Space Telescope.
If you already know about the world-renowned vacation options in Central Florida, you don’t need us to tell you they’re worth visiting. Millions come every year to visit the many attractions that are just 10 minutes to an hour away from Port Canaveral. Yes, you’re that close!

Great Restaurants and Lounges at Port CanaveralWine, Dine and Party
on Our Waterfront Don’t miss out on everything that The Cove — a waterfront recreation area with restaurants — has to offer. Enjoy fresh-off-the-boat seafood including mahi, tuna, local shrimp and lobster, or sink your teeth into a grilled steak, fried gator bites or a big piece of bourbon pecan pie. No matter what you crave, it’s all here. Many of the restaurants also have outdoor dining or tiki bars, which offer great views of cruise ships heading out to sea.
