2018 Career Writing Group Project

OVERVIEW

!  DTP Corp.’s new project for 2018 is to promote international tourism in South Korea.

!  The “� KOREA!” is a food and culture tour of the country, taking foreigners to 5 locations to enjoy 5 specialty meals and to participate in 5 cultural events.

OVERVIEW

!  These tours will begin and end in Seoul, so Seoul is not to be included in the 10-day tour. (Jeju-do, Ulleung-do and Dok-do also cannot be included; other islands that are closer to the mainland can be included.)

!  Each group will include 8 foreigners and two guides/translators.

!  Transportation will include KTX and private buses.*

!  Lodging will be in minboks or guest-houses.*

� KOREA! Groups…

!  Each group of DTP Corp. interns will include six people. Each group must determine:

1.  5 locations (bonus points for unique locations), the special meal that best represents that location, and a cultural experience near (within one hour by bus) that location.

2.  The best season and a specific target audience for the tour.

3.  The exact 10-day itinerary (including time for personal exploration/shopping).

4.  A marketing campaign to attract the specific target audience. This should include specific and realistic information, and should include the total cost of the package (meals, lodging, admission to events).

5.  A logistics plan that focuses specifically upon transportation, but may also include information on other logistical details (such as discounts / emergencies). We are only responsible for transportation from and back to Seoul.

6. The “team leader” of each team must deliver the final “Risks and Rewards” presentation, which includes (a) the most persuasive elements of your team’s plan, (b) the most risky elements of other teams’ plans and (c) any corrections or improvements that have been made to the previous presentations.

7. I will be evaluating the group effort in three areas: overall interest, proper information and overall practicality.

8. I will be evaluating your presentations in three four areas: preparation, delivery, presence and English language.
