What is FIP?

The International Pharmaceutical Federation represents 3 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists around the world: all experts in medicines and their use. It was founded in 1912 in The Netherlands under the name “Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique” (FIP) The only global Non Governmental Organization (NGO) representing pharmacists in official relations with WHO since 1948.

We have no local chapters and we tend to choose exotic destinations where there is no local membership base.

Our issue:

How to obtain local support

(such as sponsorship from local businesses, attracting local delegates, local press coverage, etc., things that are related to the topic of the event rather than general logistical support or subvention)

Hotel negotiation

This is the main source of headaches when organizing events these days. The contract conditions are very strict, and the prices for delegates are often higher than online booking prices. Negotiation can take up to 2 months, even for a small group of 125 – 130 people, and full prepayments and guarantees needed. This can prove both expensive and time-consuming….
