Blakely Care Center is known for its excellent quality of health care, friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, and attentiveness to residents and visitors. We care for seniors with skilled and professional nursing, and a complete range of physical and rehabilitation therapies, for a more active life. But beyond that, we get to know our residents as a party of our family; greeting them in their own rooms, sharing our family pictures and stories with them, and helping them live fulfilled lives.
The Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA) opened its first senior center in September 1975 with a mission to plan and develop programs and services that will allow older adults to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. As a not-for-profit agency, WCCOA operates seven senior centers in Wood County providing a multitude of serives such as home delivered meals, congregate meals, support groups, minor home repairs, volunteer opportunities, lifelong learning opportunities, trips, technology classes, health and fitness classes, educational programs, and social services including a clinic for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. For information contact us at 419.353.5661 or 1.800.367.4935

“The Hidden Treasures” calendar is a compilation of artwork from those 50 and over who live in Wood County. Artists were provided the opportunity to state, “What is art to you?” The calendar was designed by Tiffany Steele, WCCOA intern and the photography was completed by Brandon Steel. Sponsorship for this calendar was provided by Blakely Care Center and Walmart. Proceeds from the calendar will be used to enhance creative arts programming at the Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc.
