The Atlas is a book of maps, facts and figures about places. It contains charts, maps and tables. It shows cities, towns, highways, roads, rivers, mountains and names geographical features.

An Encyclopedia gives a great deal of information on different subjects which are arranged alphabetically.

The Almanac is a book of facts giving information about sports, awards, oceans, products and other topics. It is a one volume book published each year. Topics are arranged by subject matter.

The Dictionary tells the meaning of a word, how the word is pronounced, its origin, parts of speech, synonyms and antonyms and other important information about the word. The entry words are listed in alphabetical order.

A Card Catalog is a cabinet of small drawers filled with cards for each book in the library. The cards are arranged alphabetically according to their top lines. Each card has a call number in the upper left-hand corner of the card. There are usually three cards for the same card catalog: the author card, the title card, and the subject card.Each card has the same information

presented in a different order.

Reference materials like card catalog, Atlas, Almanacs, Encyclopedia, Dictionary are found in the library.
