58% of MDA employees have a very good idea of what diversity means

90% of MDA employees believe that diversity is important

49% of MDA employees indicated they believe training on diversity would be helpful/beneficial

83% of MDA employees believe that diversity is important in the workplace

95% of MDA employees say they are open-minded to the ideas of people with different views and opinions

96% of MDA employees believe that they show respect for all class levels regardless of level or

classification, age, gender, race or other differences

56% of MDA employees believe the department is diverse

Less than half of MDA employees (43%) believe the process of promotion is based on their skills, abilities, and experiences

MDA Diversity Workgroup

• Met with Director Don Koivisto to discuss the results of the diversity survey

• It was agreed that the Diversity group would meet with Anthony Estell, from DTMB who developed a Diversity/Humanity Awareness Seminar for DTMB and determine if he would assist MDA in developing a similar awareness seminar

Diversity Group’s Next Steps

• The Diversity Group will use the results of the MDA Diversity Survey as a reference to support other objectives of the Department.

• The Diversity Group will coordinate a Diversity/Humanity Awareness Seminar for MDA employees
