Dying Young Athletes: A look into the world of sports and its athletes.
Why is wrestling one of the most deadliest sports?
There is the ever so common excuse to blame their deaths on steroids, although many wrestlers have admitted to taking steroids, it is not the sole cause as to why so many of them have been dying in the last 15 years at an early age (some even before they turn 50).
Wrestlers take in an incredible amounts of physical pain from performing mainly every night; many take a deadly combination of steroids and painkillers which can lead to terrible heart conditions. Also who knows what other substances abuse an individual may do. Some wrestlers are just overweight and usually die of heart attack or stroke. In some rare cases a couple of wrestlers have committed suicide or have died doing a stunt
Football
• Why is Football a deadly sport?• Well its much like Wrestling.
However there are many more deaths revolving the players being overweight. Today, 56 percent of all players on NFL rosters are categorized as obese. (Hargrove). Steroids and painkillers are not as well known to the public like wrestling, but it is also a factor.
Boxing

Why is Boxing deadly?
Well very simply the constant haymakers, jabs, hooks, uppercuts to the body and the brain is just too much force for any body to handle. Without a doubt boxing is able to shorten a life very quickly
Philosophy of Steroids and Drug Abuse
• Many athletes fail to see the consequences that can arise from taking Steroids or any other drug, they only see the short-term effects.
• Sure steroids can help you gain muscle which is great, but really is worth it? By taking steroids an individual chance of death increase dramatically
• Painkillers is also another deadly drug if not taken with pre-caution. If an athlete keeps getting hurt and they keep taking painkillers to get rid of the excruciating pain, ultimately the body will begin to breakdown, because it has been overworked
Overweight Athletes
Athletes can come in all different type of sizes. Many of whom who are very large, are not robust. Sure being over 300 pounds has its perks, like being able to squash any opponent and create a sense of fear in your rivals. However none of that is worth it for the tremendous health risks these athletes face. The chances of death for overweight athletes is almost double than normal.
