7/28/2019 CPIT 2013
10/1610 International Pre Departure Guide 2013
Many CPIT students live in shared rental accommodation while studying. While thereare many fats to rent in Christchurch, a good one may be hard to nd, especially at the
beginning o the academic year. It is easier to nd a fat i you are in Christchurch when
you are looking.
The most important thing you must do is book temporary accommodation so that you
have somewhere to stay when you arrive in Christchurch.
I you intend to go fatting you will need independant living skills such as cooking, cleaning
and budgeting your money. Get to know the people that you intend to fat with beore you
move in to share a fat.
The ollowing are examples o the
average atting costs per week
(based upon a three person share at
in New Zealand):
Rent $120$150
Electricity $30
Food $80$100
I you are considering fatting in
Christchurch, we suggest you to look at
the ollowing websites:
www.tenancy.govt.nz
www.athunt.co.nz
www.atmatesnz.com
Temporary Accommodation
We recommend you apply or accommodation as soon as possible.
Students under 18 years of age
Students under the age o 18 years must have a designated caregiver or guardian
while in New Zealand. CPIT will orward the relevant indemnity documents or
completion as required i you are under 18 years o age.
I you are coming directly to CPIT, and not living with your parents, you must stay with
one o our approved homestay amilies.
