Course Name/Grade Overview

Course DescriptionIB Bio 1 is the first year of a two-year sequence in the IB Biology curriculum. This course begins the study of five major topics of biology: cells , chemistry of life, genetics, ecology & evolution, and human health and physiology. These five topics are required by the IB Biology program. They are also aligned with the BVSD content standards for Biology. Students will gain conceptual and practical skills as a result of involvement in scientific activities and statistical analyses. This course requires that students apply critical thinking, group cooperation, chemistry and geometry.
