The Unitek™ Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD) System has multifaceted

uses ranging from traditional needs of anchorage for space closure to skeletal

malocclusions of patients unable or unwilling to undergo surgical treatment.

The uniqueness of this system is its simplicity: a one head design, with one size

diameter and three different lengths. This system does not require injections,

incision, flaps or a pilot hole. The system is designed to be innovative yet easy

to use. It allows you to be self-sufficient and empowers you to be creative,

to efficiently deliver the results you require and your patients expect.

Description• Immediate loading

• Drill-free, requiring no pilot hole

• Indicated for use in Orthodontic applications

• 1.8 mm miniscrew implant (MSI) made from Grade 23 Titanium alloy (stronger than CP Titanium)

• Stainless steel Unitek™ TAD O-Cap features retentive groove and 0.076 mm (0.030 in) holes for attachment

Note: The threaded body is self-drilling

and self-tapping (thread-forming), thereby

eliminating the necessity of placing a pilot

hole. It is not, however, thread-cutting

because it does not have a cutting flute at

the apex that cuts or taps the bone during

placement. In lieu of a thread-cutting flute,

the apical 4 mm is tapered from 0.3 mm to

the full 1.8 mm so that bone is compressed

in and around the screw threads during

advancement instead of cutting and removing

bone common with self-tapping screws.
