What is Gaming Computer?• Kind of Personal Computer has an access to play Video Games.

• Capable of playing computationally demanding video games.

• They are played on the keyboard and mouse, or a joystick or gamepad.

• It is a computer component with High End System.

• It can play video games on Highest Resolution.

Ex.(1080i , 1080 pixels , 720 pixels)

• This also uses in Editing and Multimedia Design.

Ex. Photoshop, After Affects, Sony Vegas

History of Gaming Computers

• In the 1970s, Atari develop the first cartridge console called “Atari 2600”.Video Games Ex. “Pong ”,”Pizza Time“, “Pac-man”

• The PC push for better graphics display such as CGA eventually graduating to VGA.• In the 1980s, Commodore 64 and Amiga are now compatible to non-IBM PC

platforms. Ex. Apple 2 Computer, Hewlett Packard PC

• LAN parties helped to promote the use of network cards and routers. • In modern times, Video card Manufacturers releases more performance for PC

Games.• Forays into physics processing have also been made, though with Nvidia's buyout

of PhysX and Intel's buyout of Havok.

Custom Built Gaming Computers

1.) Custom-building PCs allows gamers to budget control and easier upgradability.

2. It is possible to maximize performance for the best value when building a Custom Gaming rig.

3.) Several components that must be considered when building a Custom Gaming rig.– Ex. CPUs, memory, a motherboard, Video cards, Solid-state drives, Power supplies, and cases.

4.) Gamers usually turn to independent benchmarks to help make their hardware selection.

5.) AnandTech and Tom's Hardware Guide provide such benchmarks and hardware reviews.

6.) The benchmarks include ratings for PC components that are necessary to build a gaming PC.

What are the components for building a Gaming Computer?

1.) Graphics Card(Video Card)/Graphics Processing Unit(GPU)• This also known as a GPU is essential to any custom built gaming PC.• GPU connect to a computer motherboard using the PCI Express or PCI-E.

(Peripheral Component Interconnect Express)• This component gives graphics performance for Gaming• Video Card/GPU can run Highest Resolution and Graphics • There are two major gaming structure brands “AMD” and “NVIDIA” .• The fastest GPU for NVIDIA is GTX TITAN, while AMD is Radeon HD 7990.

AMD Radeon HD 7990(up) & NVidia GTX TITAN(down)

2.)Processors / Central Processing Unit(CPU)

• CPU is the brain of the Computer System.• Major component that cannot be overlooked in a gaming computer. • CPU is also use for computing, editing, and gaming.• For Gaming, At least 2.0GHz up speed of processor is needed to run games

smoothly.• There are two major CPU brands “AMD” and “Intel”. • Fastest CPU for Intel is Core i7, while AMD is FX 8350

What are the components for building a Gaming Computer?

3.)Motherboards • Motherboard is the main circuit board of the system.• This component brings all the Computer hardware together. • It manages the input and output connections. • Motherboards come in different form factors, or physical sizes.

– Ex. ATX, mATX, and Mini-ITX.• Gaming machines typically use ATX motherboards, as their size allows for

greater future expansion.• Motherboard brand examples are MSI , Asus , Gigabyte , Asrock , and More.

4.)Memory/Random Access Memory(RAM)• Memory is essential to system performance. • It is a workspace of a Computer.• RAM is the primary memory of the microprocessor.• Adding more memory will increase system performance. • The are different type of memory. DDR1 SDRAM, DDR3 SDRAM, and

DDR3 SDRAM– DDR stands for Double Data Rate Random Access Memory

• For gaming,DDR3 memory has higher bandwidth performance and consumes less power.

What are the components for building a Gaming Computer?

5.) Solid State Drive (SSD)• Solid-state drives (SSD) are a newer form of data storage which is

gaining in popularity. • SSD has a higher RPM, which is faster than Hard Drive.• It has no moving mechanical parts and it runs silently.• It runs faster by booting up a system and launching programs take

less time.• For gaming, It load rapidly items from the game such as levels and

textures.[ • SSDs are more expensive than Hard Drives

8.)Computer Case• This is a case to protect the Components Inside.• It contains ODD bay, HDD Slot , FAN Slot and Motherboard tray.• For Gaming, A larger case will allow for future upgrades.• The case must also be compatible with the motherboard's form factor.• Case Mod allows a builder to personalize their case for aesthetic purposes.• There are Case brands: Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Antec, and more.

Thermal Take Level 10 GT Cooler Master Storm Stryker Antec Eleven Hundred

6.) Power Supply Unit (PSU)/True Rated• provides electricity of the proper voltage and current to electronic

devices.• It also provides power to run all the System Unit.• More wattage, The PSU can run all the High End components.

– Ex. 1200 watts PSU vs. High End Components

• For gaming, future upgrades to a gaming rig will possibly require more power.

• There are two types, modular PSUs (MPSU) and non-modular PSUs.• Non-modular PSUs come with fixed cables, while MPSUs allow for better

cable management + wireless.

7.)Cooling Systems• This contains lots of Fans to cool the System unit.• It provides proper air ventilation inside of System.• It also helps to remove hot air from the Components.• For overclocking, It makes component stable.• There are different sizes: 80mm,120mm,140mm and 200mm• There are also different Kinds of Cooling:

– Air Cooling– Liquid Cooling– Water Cooling
