DPS Tapi teachers and parents attended a session on 'Understanding of Life skills for Parents and Teachers' through panel discussion on 6 May 2020. The webinar focussed on the general life skills that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.

Delhi Public School Tapi celebrated Fit India Movement from 15 April to 15 May 2020 to bring awareness about sports and its impact in the lives of the students. Classes VI-XI students watched live sessions on different kind of indigenous games like Kabaddi, Shooting Ball, Running, Mallakhamb, Kho-Kho, Thang-Ta, Kalaripayattu etc. through You Tube and Fit India Movement Government portal. These videos were very interesting and connected students with their culture and games.

The Inauguration Event of Rashtriya Swachhata

Kendra

Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's efforts towards cleanliness. DPS Tapi students virtually attended the inaugurat ion ceremony of Rashtr iya Swachhata Kendra on 8 August 2020 where our honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi launched the RSK at Rajghat, Delhi and talked about S w a c h h B h a r a t A b h i y a n campaign.

De lh i Pub l i c Schoo l Tap i ce lebra ted International Yoga Day on 21 June 2020. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Classes I-XI students performed different yoga asanas like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, S h a s h a n k a a s a n a , B h u j a n g a s a n a a n d Pawanamukatasana in the i r ac t iv i ty classrooms. The session concluded with Pranayama and meditation.

They planted coriander, fenugreek, mustard, mint, onion, garlic and pulses of their choice and learned different kind of techniques to look after their plants.

DPS Tapi maintained the unbroken tradition, since its inception in 2009, of hoisting the National Tiranga on 15 August 2020, in the presence of a skeletal staff and following all Covid-19 precautionary measures. Our Principal, Dr. Sanjukta Sivakumar hoisted Indian Tiranga and sent virtual wishes of 74th Independence through a motivational Blog Post- “The Independent Autonomous Learner”.

Mrs. YGP Memorial Quiz 2020 National

Level Inter School Quiz

Classes VI-VIII students participated in Mrs. YGP Memorial Online National Level Quiz 2020-21 on 24 and 28 August 2020. It was an initiative of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Group of schools. The topic of the quiz was “India”. Shaurya Tondon (Class VI-B) received Participating Certificate as he was selected in top 400 of India from total of 23889 participants.

Hindi Diwas

SPIC MACAY hosted an online memorial concert for legendary Indian classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj on August 30 2020 at 6.30 PM on its YouTube channel. Delhi Public School Tapi staff and Classes VI-XI students attended this online event. The performance kept the audience spell bound and mesmerized.

September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Diwas, to pay tribute to one of the official languages of India. DPS Tapi virtually organised Essay Writing, Poem Recitation, Poem Writing, Speech, Reading Competition for Classes III to X students on 14 December 2020 to mark this event..

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony- Mahatma Gandhi. The virtual special assembly on Gandhian Philosophy was conducted by class VII students on 30 September 2020. Students and teachers gathered virtually to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with patriotic fervour. Gandhian ideals were depicted through the prayers, thoughts and pledge. Classes III-V students participated in 'Home Cleanliness Activity' and made posters on Swachh Bharat. Classes VI-VIII students participated in English Elocution Competition and Class IX-X students participated in essay writing and poem composition on “Importance of Truthfulness'.

Diwali Celebration

Delhi Public School Tapi celebrated a No-Pollution E-Green Diwali from 08-11 October 2020. Various events were organized at this event. Nursery-Class V students made diya using papers, vegetables and rangoli using the ideas shared by the class teachers during the online class. Parents helped their wards to create these craft and shared the pictures of their ward.

CBSE Reading Week

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go.”Classes I-XI students celebrated CBSE Reading Week from 8 -14 September 2020 through virtual platform. Various interesting reading activities like weave a story, picture description, riddles, rhyme time, reading aloud, vocabulary building and dialogue delivery were conducted during the Reading Week. They also spoke for a minute stating their favourite character and what they liked most about the book.

Jarma Wellness on Mental Health

10 October is celebrated as World Mental Health Day. DPS Tapi observed World Mental Health day along with Jarma Wellness on 10 October 2020 for Classes Nur-XI. Students were oriented about the stigma around Mental Health. Students and teachers took the pledge to speak up – 'It's OK to be NOT OK' and support friends and family members who do not feel OK.

Pledge on Jan Andolan for Covid-19

The Government of India organised a Jan Andolan for Covid – 19 Appropriate Behaviour Pledge on 10 October 2020. It was conducted online. A link for the pledge was shared with the students on their school class blogs. Our school also participated in it. Many students took part and took the pledge. They also received an online generated certificate. The pledge was in two languages- English and Hindi. The pledge was committed to the responsibility of taking all necessary precautions that would prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Vigilance Awareness Week 2020

DPS Tapi students participated in the 'E-Integrity Pledge' from home by using the available electronic mode on 27 October 2020 through the official portal of central Vigilance Commission website and received a certificate.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

The birth anniversary (31 October) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. An Online Pledge (Oath), Essay Writing Competition, Slogan Writing competition and Online Quiz were conducted on 31 October 2020 to observe the day at the secondary level.

Korea India Essay Contest 2020

Classes VI-XII students participated in The All India 8th Korea-India Friendship Competition 2020 organized by the Korean Cultural Centre, Embassy of the Republic of Korea on 30 August 2020.

Children's Day

Delhi Public School Tapi celebrated Children's Day this year on 14th November virtually, due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. A plethora of activities was live-streamed by the Activity teachers for the students. Children enjoyed a lot. The Activity teachers prepared videos, one-act plays, interactive games that were shared with the students online. It's definitely not the same as regular celebrations, but the teachers went out of their way to use technology and do the best they could in the times of pandemic.

Quiz Contest VI- XI

Delhi Public School Tapi organised a Quiz Contest for Classes VI-XI students through online Google Meet on 30 September 2020. The themes of the Quiz were 'Nature & Wildlife of India' and 'Science & Technology of India' for Junior and Senior Levels. The winners are:

Vigilance Awareness Week

The Central Vigilance Commission, an apex integrity institution of the country, in its endeavor to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in public life, has been declaring the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year to encourage the fight against corruption. This year, the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week was 'Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India)'. In view of the existing COVID-19 pandemic situation, most of the students of Class X took the 'e-Integrity Pledge' on 27 October 2020 on the official portal of central Vigilance Commission website and also received a certificate after completing the same.

Maths -Mela Week

DPS Tapi, every year, organises Math-Mela week to celebrate the birthday of Srinivas Ramanujan and this year was not an exception. The celebration was carried out from 22-26 December 2020. Classes I – X students had organised fun activities in Mathematics. The lower primary did Maan Card activity, Primary section did stick multiplication, role play, fun games and so on. Classes VI-X did hands on activities related to 3D shapes, their surface areas and volumes, warli art, activity on fractions etc.

Effort to create world record with Delhi Public School

and IIT Bombay's Mood Indigo

Mood Indigo - the annual cultural festival of IIT Bombay, renowned to be Asia's Largest College Cultural Festival - is presently in its 50th edition. This year Mood Indigo planned to create a world record and DPS students participated in the same on 20 December 2020. The basic objective of this event was to light candles of hope across the nation in difficult times by making thousand paper cranes online. The idea of making paper cranes is in reference to the famous Japanese Fable about making 1000 paper cranes as a prayer to heal from disease.

Celebration of Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary

To honour the many contributions of Swami Vivekananda, the Govt. of India celebrates his birth anniversary on 12 January, every year as National Youth Day. The main objective behind the celebration is to propagate the philosophy and the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and to promote rational thinking among the youth of the country. DPS Tapi organised different activities level wise on this day. Class V and IX students celebrated the same by organising an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Issues Related to Youth of India” whereas the students of Classes VI-VIII students composed beautiful poems based on it.

The Awakened Citizen Programme

The 'Awakened Citizen Programme' aims at equipping students with soft skills, character-building techniques and other life tools. Delhi Public School Tapi teachers conducted an interactive and informative online session for Classes I-II and VI-VII. The modules emphasized at explaining the programme based on Swami Vivekananda's message of the infinite potential in every individual which can be manifested as excellence in every walk of life.

Bricmath 4th International Online

Competition in Mathematics

DPS TAPI students participated in the Bricmaths Online Competition. They participated in a trial round from 19 October-15 November 2020 and the competition was held from 16 November – 20 December 2020. The winners are:

6th DPST MUN 2020

The 6th Delhi Public School Tapi MUN was organized online on 30 December 2020 for the students of Classes IX and XI with Classes VII and VIII as spectators. It was phenomenal to see the little tots turn into excellent orators, debating with confidence and professionalism, keeping the session alive and buzzing with competition. Republic Day

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Delhi Public School Tapi, Surat on 26th January 2021, with a slight difference. Teachers presented the patriotic song, followed by the poem and the dance at school, which was telecast live on the DPS Tapi official Youtube channel. The students watched the live performance and also participated online this time, in various events, from their respective houses. Secondary and Senior Secondary students participated in an online Essay and Patriotic Poetry writing competition hosted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in association with Ministry of Defence and submitted their write-ups on the portal and received a participation certificate.

4th DPST MIP 2020-21

Fourth Model Indian Parliament was conducted in Delhi Public School Tapi on 13 January 2021 through online platform in which students of Classes VIII & XI represented various Ministers and Cabinet Ministers of both houses- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Ruling and Opposition.The students experienced exhilarating sessions of debate and discussion on burning topics like Farmers bill, Covid -19 Pandemic and various other issues. The debate concluded with passing of the Bill: - “The Famer's Produce, Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020. The winners are:

SPIC MACAY 2020- 21

SPIC MACAY brings the students an exceptional representation of our culture, art and heritage. An online rendezvous and weekend programming cinema Classic- Bhav Ni Bhavai by Ketan Mehta was screened on 5 February 2021 at 5.30 PM followed by interaction with film makers, Prabodh Parikh a poet, visual artist and teacher of film & philosophy and Ananya Parikh, a film and cultural studies lecturer. It was pleasure for Classes IX-XI students and teachers of Delhi Public School Tapi, to attend this online event. The module highlighted on critically analyzing films and also provided students with guidance on how to appreciate films.

Pariksha Pe Charcha- 2021

Classes IX-X students and teachers participated in the online Pariksha Pe Charcha creative writing competition on various topics from 18 February to 14 March 2021 in the fourth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha launched by Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi to reduce the stress of board exam aspirants. The best essays will be featured in PM's interactive virtual session scheduled in the third week of March 2021.

Toy Fair-2021

With a view to boost toy manufacturing in the country and improve its global market share in line with the theme of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat, the 1st India Toy Fair-2021' was organized on a virtual platform from 27 February to 4 March 2021. DPS TAPI learners and educators, participated in this session and found the event very useful.

26th All India Inter DPS Children's Art

Competition 2020-2021

“Art connects what words cannot”, keeping the same ideal at the forefront, students of DPS Tapi, participated in an Inter DPS Children's Art Competition 2020-2021 on 31 January 2021.
