Angela Iannone, Louise Seger

Angela Iannone is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Rep for the 2011/12 Season. A familiar face to Milwaukee, Madison

and Chicago theater patrons, Ms. Iannone was most recently seen at Milwaukee Rep as Marie Lombardi in Lombardi and as Fräulein Kost in Cabaret. She has also appeared on stage for In Tandem Theatre as Kate Hepburn in Tea at Five and Next Act Theatre as the Countess Orsini in A Sleeping Country. Other roles include Medea in Medea, Maria Callas in Master Class, She in Purgatorio, Ariel in The Tempest, Roxie in Chicago, Kate in Taming of the Shrew, Chorus in Henry V, Lady MacBeth in MacBeth and Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar. Ms. Iannone is a member of The Women Who Can’t Sing cabaret group, a Joseph Jefferson Award-winner and a three time “Best of Milwaukee” award winner. Her play, The Edwin Booth Company Presents . . ., premiered in November of 2011 and was chosen as a Regional winner by the American College Theatre Festival. This summer Ms. Iannone will be a company member at Door County Shakespeare Company in Door County, Wisconsin.

Ted Swindley, Author and Original Director

Ted Swindley has directed and/or produced over 200 plays for over 20 years. Some of his most outstanding directorial credits include world premieres, classics and musicals including Carnal Knowledge, Pacific Overtures, Follies and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, along with rotating repertory projects such as Havel’s The Memoradum with Giradioux’s The Madwoman of Chaillot, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town and Les Liaisons Dangereuses with The Importance of Being Earnest. Ted was named to Esquire magazine’s register of Americans for Outstanding Achievement in Arts and Letters, and was featured in Southern Living Magazine. In 2007, he was a keynote speaker at the Southwestern Theatre Conference. He was also the recipient of the Los Angeles Dramalogue Award for outstanding direction and was nominated for the Los Angeles Critics Award for his work at the Pasadena Playhouse. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Stages Repertory Theatre, the second largest theater in Houston, Texas. There he implemented such diverse programming as the Texas Playwrights Festival, for which he won national recognition in 1986 from the Wall Street Journal and Backstage Magazine. Ted is best known for creating the hit musical, Always . . . Patsy Cline, which was one of the top ten shows produced across the country in 1998. He has also directed in over 60 theaters. The Honky Tonk Angels is his latest hit, and he has completed the trilogy with The Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular and Bubba’s Revenge (which all can be done independently of each other). Ted has just recently premiered his latest work, Bachelor Pad in New York City, and completed a Southern adaptation of The Important of Being Earnest, titled The Importance of Bein’ Earnest, and a play, Stories My Grandmother Told Me, which had its premiere in Kansas City, MO in January 2008. He is an active member of the Dramatists Guild and The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, and is a member of the Playwrights/Directors Workshop at the famed Actors Studio in New York City.

Sandy Ernst, Director/Associate Artistic Director

Sandy is so happy to be back in the Stackner Cabaret honoring another American musical

legend – Patsy Cline. Last season’s Nobody Lonesome for Me was the

highlight of her season, and the only thing that could top that journey with Hank would be a visit with Patsy and Louise. Sandy began her career as a Directing Apprentice with American Players Theatre in 1981, and over the next 18 seasons, directed 20 productions, appeared as an actress and became an Equity stage manager, ultimately serving as APT’s Production Stage Manager before relocating to Milwaukee. She has been with The Rep since 1995 serving as Director of Artistic Interns, Casting Director, Stage Manager and Director. Outside of The Rep and APT, Sandy has directed for Next Act Theatre and Renaissance Theaterworks, conducted classes on Shakespeare and audition technique at universities throughout the country and is occasionally a freelance casting director. She has been married to actor Lee Ernst for over 30 years, and their productions include four children and two grandsons. This one is for Rose.

Chelsea Warren, Scenic Designer

Chelsea Warren makes her Milwaukee Rep scenic design debut. Chicago projects include: scenery for fml: how Carson McCullers saved my life, First Look 2011 and A Separate Peace (Steppenwolf Theatre Company); Hesperia (Writers’ Theatre); The Kid Thing (Chicago Dramatists and About Face Theatre); Pornography; A Brief History of Helen of Troy (Steep Theatre); Educating Rita (Shattered Globe); The Metal Children (Next Theatre); K. (The Hypocrites) and Mrs. Caliban (Lifeline Theatre). International work includes: Stones/Air (Barossa International Sculpture Park, S. Australia) and La Femme des Sables (Compagnie Unikaji, Paris and Zagreb). Alex Tecoma, Costume Designer

Alex has been a Draper in The Rep’s Costume Shop for the past 15 seasons. He was Rep Company Member of the Year for the 2004/05 season. Past designs for The Rep include: Next to Normal, Nobody Lonesome for Me, Liberace!, Route 66, The Lady with All the Answers, Greater Tuna, The Norman Conquests, The Glass Menagerie, Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, Polish Diva from Milwaukee, The Andrews Brothers, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Lana Mae’s Honky Tonk Laundry, Fully Committed and Shear Madness. Other design credits include: Barrymore with Lee Ernst, Memory House, Skin Tight, Syncopation, A Phoenix Too Frequent

(Renaissance Theaterworks), The Tempest (Optimist Theatre) and Harley Davidson’s 100th Anniversary Tour. Other professional credits: Great Lakes Theater Festival, American Players Theatre, Colorado Shakespeare Festival and Santa Fe Opera. Alex received his MFA in Costume Design from the University of Illinois.

Craig Gottschalk, Lighting Designer

Craig is happy to be designing another production in the Stackner Cabaret. Previous Milwaukee Rep designs include Bombitty of Errors, Nobody Lonesome for Me and Route 66. Other lighting credits include: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Ivey award-winning Kiss of the Spiderwoman; ‘Best in Twin Cities’ award-winning Jerry Springer – The Opera for Minneapolis Musical Theatre; King Lear for Minnesota Shakespeare Project; Into the Woods and Wizard of Oz for Minnetonka Center for the Arts and 1940’s Radio Hour and 3-Way for 8 Ball Theater. Craig holds an MFA in Lighting and Sound Design from the University of Minnesota.

Dan Kazemi, Musical Director/Joe Bob, piano (thru April 29th)

Dan Kazemi is a Philadelphia-based composer, actor, music director and educator, and was Musical Director for The Rep’s productions of Cabaret and Next to Normal. He graduated from Haverford College with a BA in Music Composition and a Theater minor. In Philadelphia, Dan musically directed Tick, Tick . . . Boom!, Austentatious, the PhillyRocks! concerts, The World Goes Round (Barrymore nomination), Reefer Madness, Little Shop of Horrors, Rooms and The Great American Trailer Park Musical for 11th Hour Theatre Company. He also garnered a Helen Hayes Nomination for his work on the D.C. premiere of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical, a Barrymore Nomination for The Flea and the Professor (Arden Theatre Company), and received a Barrymore Award for 11th Hour’s Avenue X. At the Walnut Street Theatre, Dan musically directed, arranged and performed in The Irish and How They Got That Way (Two Barrymore Nominations). Dan’s music has been performed at the Cirque de Demain in Paris, at the A.W.A.R.D. Show Philadelphia, and in 213 Productions collaborations, Untitled Project #213 and Your Attention Please! Dan is also the composer of a new musical, The Tapioca Miracle (thetapiocamiracle.com).

Paul Helm, Joe Bob, piano (starting May 1st)

Paul is thrilled to be back at The Rep! Past Rep credits include Laurel and Hardy, Guys on Ice, Life Could Be a Dream, Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, The Polish Diva from Milwaukee and Blue Rose: The Rosemary Clooney Story. Paul has also performed, directed and music directed with Skylight Music Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theater, Florentine Opera Company, American Folklore Theatre, Greenbrier Valley Theatre, Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse and the UW-Platteville Heartland Festival. Recent credits include Gershwin and Friends, The Music Man, Seussical, Grease, Ragtime, U: Bug: Me!, My Son Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Elmer Gantry (2012 Grammy award winner). Patrick is glad to be back at The Rep after drumming for Next To Normal and Cabaret. In addition to The Rep, Patrick has provided percussive accompaniment for many local theaters including the Fireside Theatre, First Stage Children’s

Theater and Milwaukee Chamber Theatre. He spent a great deal of 2009/10 touring the U.S. and Canada with Little House on the Prairie: The Musical starring TV’s Melissa Gilbert. When not doing “legit” gigs, Patrick can be found jaunting the globe with rock & roll combos such as Eddie Clendening & the Blue Ribbon Boys, Kim Lenz & the Jaguars and local power pop sensation, Trolley.

Jonathan Ziegler, Jay Bob, electric bass

Jonathan Ziegler is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter from Milwaukee, with more than 25 years of performing and recording experience. Jonathan regularly travels across the United States performing with ’60s surf instrumental revivalists, The Exotics. He can also be found performing regionally with his rhythm and blues septet, The Uptown Savages. For the past 15 years Jonathan has been hosting The Chickenshack, a roots and Americana radio program, on WMSE 91.7 fm. Always . . . Patsy Cline is Jonathan’s debut at Milwaukee Rep.

Sarah Hoffmann, Stage Manager

Sarah is pleased to return to The Rep having last celebrated the holidays by working on A Christmas Carol.

Sarah has had the pleasure of working at a number of other theater companies throughout Wisconsin including Renaissance Theaterworks, American Folklore Theatre, American Players Theatre and First Stage Children’s Theater where, last fall, she stage managed a wonderful production of Seussical. As always, Sarah is continually grateful to be working in the arts.
