Introduction The Government set an ambition to reduce the number of stillbirths, neonatal deaths, maternal deaths

and brain injuries that occur during or soon after birth by 20% by 2020 and by 50% by 2025.

Utilising research from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG), in-house research and

further information from local teams, HEE have produced this catalogue of quality assured multi-

disciplinary training packages that will support maternity services to develop

and maintain high standards of teamwork, communication, clinical skills and a culture of safety whilst

reducing maternal and fetal harm.

You can use the catalogue to develop an appropriate bid, incorporating a range of appropriate training

from the different headings: Leadership, Fetal Growth, Fetal Monitoring, Teamworking and

Communication, Teamworking and Skills and Drills, Skills and Drills, Cultural Capabilities, and other

training/ courses.

Contents We have tried to make this catalogue as navigable as possible. Please click on the course name

below to link through to the relevant course page and clicking on a skill set will link to the relevant

skill set section. The home icon at the top of each page will take you back to the Contents Page.

Further information about the courses can be found by clicking the URL link at the bottom of each

course page. This catalogue may assist your maternity unit in selecting the most appropriate training

courses to meet your organisations training needs. it is not comprehensive and exclusive but

intended to be used as a guide.
