Welcome to the April edition of our Newsletter. Those of you waiting to read the final instalment of George Edwards story will, unfortunately, have to wait until May. We would like to thank again those volunteers who help us to deliver the newsletter to every home in Marsham. Mobile library in Marsham The Norfolk County Council mobile library van will be in Marsham on Mondays 13th April and 11th May. The stop-off points are Le Neve Road - 15.30 to 15.45 Wathen Way - 15.50 to 16.05
Garage and Garden Sale Following a good response to the proposed Garage and Garden Sale in the March newsletter, this event is now going ahead on Saturday 30th May. It will run from 10 until 4 in the afternoon. Refreshments will be available from the village hall where there will also be further table top stalls. Visitors will be able to buy a map (50p) from the hall on the day showing the location of all the various garage and garden stalls around the village. It is still not too late to join in! Deadline day is Friday 1st May. Anyone joining after that date would not be able to be included on the map. You could sell anything you wish plants, books, dvds, bric a brac etc. Tables will also be available at the hall for anyone who would prefer, perhaps because they live too far out from the centre of the village. The cost of being included on the map or to have a table in the hall will be 5. Why not clear out that garage or loft and see what you could sell. Also an opportunity to sell some of those spare plants and seedlings from the garden. Funds for this event will be shared between the village hall and the Defibrillator Group. HEARTFELT THANKS!
I am writing to say a very big thank you for your recent support in my efforts to raise money for the Norfolk Heart Trust following my spell in hospital last year. With four things in the pipeline, I hoped to make a 1,000 between 14th February and 8th March.
Starting on Valentines Day (appropriate I thought, for hearts) with a chip and quiz night setting myself a target hopefully of raising 200! This I exceeded and we raised 307!
My next effort was a Concert with Taverham Band on Sunday March 1st, a year on from coming out of the Coronary Care Unit, to the cardiac ward.
I hoped to make my overall target with a bit of luck and raised just over 800 on the day. I have collected a box from Whites the Butchers in Aylsham, and so added another 10 and my friends One Foot in the Groove busking in Aylsham Market Place gave me another 63.50
MAKING AN OVERALL PROFIT FOR THE NHT OF 1,330.46
My grateful thanks go to everyone who attended, donated prizes or donated monies to this fantastic total.

PLANNING UPDATE FUTURE HOUSING BROADLAND The long awaited public hearing to discuss the location of suitable sites has now been suggested as commencing 29th June 2015 (date to be confirmed). THE PUBLIC HEARING As you are aware Broadland District Council has already identified those towns and villages which are considered suitable for expansion. At the public hearing the appointed Independent Planning Inspector (referred to in previous editions of Marsham Village News) will consider the actual location of building sites which have been proposed for these towns or villages. Reepham, for instance, is one such town identified for expansion, but there is more than one actual building site which is being suggested as suitable for the proposed housing expansion. MARSHAM The village has NOT been identified by BDC as being suitable for future expansion (other than 'infill' of groups of 1 5 houses within the existing village boundaries and not on 'greenfield' land). It is considered by BDC Planning Department that it is extremely unlikely that the Independent Planning Inspector would wish to give any consideration to changing this policy for Marsham. NB All information noted above is as received via discussion with BDC Planning Department on 2nd March 2015. Greg Jarvis

Many of them are registered under Norfolk Churchyards Conservation Scheme which aims to help churches manage their churchyards to protect plants and wildlife of special interest which thrive in their environment. As well as some lovely buildings, and some ancient ruins, he showed slides of birds, deer , unusual flowers and lichens that he has come across on his travels around Norfolk. Our Woodforde Group annual meeting at Buxton village hall at the end of April will be taking the form of a fish & chip lunch with a guest speaker. An exhibition celebrating 100 years of the WI has opened at Gressenhall Museum and will run until the Autumn; some of our members will be attending a reception there in July. Other forthcoming events include lunch at Federation office in Norwich, a :RPHQ:DONWKH:RUOGZDONLQ%OLFNOLQJSDUNWRSURPRWH$VVRFLDWHG&RXQWU\:RPHQRIWKHWorld (ACWW), an afternoon tea & fashion show and a croquet taster day.
