In the propulsion entrance:• The pipeline must be hermetic, with adequate dimensions in order not to produce excessive load losses and with a tickness that supports the maximal possible pressure of utilization.• In order to avoid the volume of flow exceeding the maximal suitable courage in the catalog, install a gate valve in the exit.• When the working pressure is superior to 15mts, avoid the water hammer installing a backwater valve.

• The starting must be carried out by qualified personnel.

• Before coupling the suction and propulsion pipeline, verify that the rotational element of the pump resolves freely.

• Control the set rotation direction (see deflection in the pump) and the correct group motor/pump alignment.

• Check the perfect primed of the pump and pipeline.

• Close the gate, open it lightly and pull up the group. Once in progress, open the gate gradually until it reaches the adequate features.

FUNCIONAMIENTO, PUESTA EN SERVICIO Y PARO / OPERATING, PUTTING INTO SERVICE AND STOPPAGE

3

In the air inlet it is necessary to:

• Install the pump the closest possible to the suction place following the criterion that the available NPSH is superior tothe required NPSH, in order to avoid cavitation.

• Avoid closed curves and sudden section changes.

• Utillize a suction pipe with a minimum inclination of 2%, perfectly airtight and with a diameter superior to the suction pump diameter.

• If the pump operates in depression, in order to prime it, the suction must be provided with a foot valve, separate enough at the bottom so as not to crawl particles that could damage the pipeline.

• If a filter is placed, the load lost in the suction must be kept in mind.

• The suction and propulsion pipeline will be supported by anchorages so that their own weight could not damage the pump casing.

INSTALACION / INSTALLATION

Page 4: Manualbomba centrifuga HMT

The most common anomalies and their possible causes are:

The pump does not elevate water:

• Pump not primed (foot valve do not close, losses in joints or in the aspiration pipeline).

• Low turn speed.

• Insufficient total manometric height (recalculate load losses in all the instalation).

• Obstruction in the impellers or in the foot valve (clean).

• Waste of the interior pieces (substitute).

• Cavitation for an insufficient submergence.

• Rupture or important leakages in the aspiration pipeline.

• Excessive suction height (bring the pump near to the water level, increase the pipeline diameter or replace the pump for another one of minor NPSH required).

Insufficient volume of flow:

• Whichever of the described causes which motivate an insufficient elevation height.

• Decrease in the efficiency for waste motivate an insufficient elevation height.

• Gate valve closed (open) or obstructed (clean).

• Rupture or leakages in the propulsion pipeline journey.

The pump consumes too much capacity:

• Inadequate operation point in the pump volume of flow/height (see characteristics in the technical catalogue).

• Stuffing box too tight and consequent pump axis braking (loosen the stuffing nuts).

• Turn speed excessively high.

The pump vibrates or makes excessive noise:

• Air absortion for the suction (revise installation).

• Cavitation for an insufficient submergence.

• Insufficient volume of flow that could facilitate air absortion.

• Incorrect alignment of the coupling plate.

• Axis, bearings or impellers waste.

• Parcial obstruction in the impeller that causes an unbalance in the pump rotational masses.

• In pumps equipped with water seal, do not tighten excessively the stuffing box. In normal operation it must drip notably for a correct refrigeration.• Never make the pump operate without water. The maximal volume of flow working time is of 2 to 3 drip notably for a correct refrigeration.• Before stopping the group, close almost completely the propulsion gate in order to avoid the water hammer. • During the operation, the temperature and ball bearing greasing must be wath over, as well as the box oil level and packed dropping and refrigeration. The operation must be silent and exempt of vibrations (in order to know the aerial pump noise, consult the factory).

The most common anomalies and their possible causes are:

The pump does not elevate water:

• The electric motor turns the other way round (connections).

• Slack the nuts (fig. 59) and take the cap out.

• Slack the nuts (fig. 63) and the impellers.

• Dismounted progressively the pieces (fig.3, 16, 17, 18 and 4), slack the nuts (fig. 57) and take the stuffing out (fig. 10).

• Slack the nuts (fig. 60) and dismounted.

• For the assembly do on the reverse sequence.

Page 11: Manualbomba centrifuga HMT

The liquid to pump must be clean water, chemistry and mechanically not aggressive, with a maximal content of solid substances inferior to 40gr/m3 and to a maximal temperature not superior to 40ºC.

Never overcome the limit settled on the characteristics catalogue concerning pressure (of suction and propulsion), rotation speed, absorbed power, etc.

Make sure that no unautho-rized personnel are located outside of the working zone.

Do not touch the pieces in move-ment.

Before making use read carefully this hankdbook user guide.

TRANSPORTE, MANIPULACION Y ALMACENAMIENTO / TRANSPORT, MANIPULATION AND STORAGE

Consult weight and measures board in the general characteristics catalogue, and do not load up manually if the weight is superior to 50kg.

Check that the data indicated in the characteristics badge corresponds to the order and that all the

protections and security etiquettes are correct. If the pump is supossed to remain filled for a certain period of time, deposit it in a dry place and cover the mechanized parts with oil or with an anticorrosive product. Do not eliminate the mechanic protection of the air inlet and air outlet neither take the pump out of its original packing.
