equipmenttoisolatethegeneratorfromelectricutility.Inhighlyconductiveareasuchasmetaldeckingorsteelwork,useagroundcircuitfaultinterrupter.Nevertouchthegeneratorifthegeneratoriswet.Also,nevertouchthegeneratorifyourhandiswet.Neveroperateyourgeneratoriftheweatherconditionscallforanytypeofprecipitationsuchasrain,snow,orfog.

FUELSAFETY
WhenusingtheLPGgenerator,pleasebesurethatthereissomedistancebetweenLGPtankandtheLPGgenerator,topreventunnecessarydangerbecauseofthehightemperaturesurfaceareaoftheLPGtank.Whenusingtheunit,pleasecheckthesurfacetemperatureoftheLPGtank.
Placethegeneratorinawell‐ventilatedarea.DONOTplacethegeneratornearventsorintakeswhereexhaustfumescouldbedrawnintooccupiedorconfinedspaces.Carefullyconsiderwindandaircurrentswhenpositioninggenerator.PleasedonotlightacigaretteneartheLPGgenerator.
GENERATOR SAFETY
Donotstartgeneratorwithelectricaldevicesconnectedtoit.Startthegeneratorfirstandafterthespeedofthegeneratorstabilizes,electricalloadscanbeappliedtoit.
Whenconnectingelectricalloads,makesurethedevicesare"OFF"firstbeforeconnectingthem.

InstructiononLPGdenserdevice(bottom)TodevelopcoldstartperformanceofLPGgeneratorunit,theairREDUCTORASSYincludesoneLPGdenserdevice(bottom),thedetailedoperationofthebottomisshownbelow.
WhenstartingthecoldLPGgeneratorunit,openthevalveoftheLPGtank,closetheresistanceairvalvehandle,presstheLPGdenserdevice(bottom)lightly,andholdfor1‐2seconds,thenstop.Starttheenginenormally,andafterfinishingthestartup,pleaseopenresistanceairvalvehandle.

Afterstartingthegenerator,lettheenginewarmupafterconnectingelectricalloadstoit.Donothaveanyelectricalloadsconnectedbeforestartingthegenerator.
Makesureallelectricaldevicesare60Hzdevices.
Donotconnect50Hzdevicestothegenerator.Donotconnect3‐phaseloadstothegenerator.Donotoverloadthegenerator.
Beforebeginningyourwork,youmustverifythattherated(running)andsurge(starting)wattsfortheitemsyouwillpoweratthesametimearewithinthegeneratorsoperatingcapacity.PleaserefertothefollowingTable1forwattage/amperageratings.Also,toprolongthelifeofyourgenerator,prolongthelifeofyourgenerator,sequentiallyaddloadsandpermitthegeneratortostabilizebeforeaddinganotherload.Neverexceedthecapacityofthegenerator.
Estimatehowmanysurge(starting)wattsyouwillneed.Surgewattageistheshortburstofpowerneededtostartelectricmotor‐driventoolsorappliancessuchasacircularsaworrefrigerator.
StoppingtheEngine
1.Turnoffandunplugallelectricalloads.Neverstartorstopthegeneratorwithelectricaldevicespluggedinorturnedon.
2.Letthegeneratorrunatno‐loadforseveralminutestostabilizeinternaltemperaturesoftheengineandgenerator.3.Turntheignitionswitchtothe“Off”position.
4.Turnthefuelvalvetothe“Off”position.

MAINTENANCE
Generatormaintenanceconsistsofkeepingtheunitcleananddry.Besuretostoretheunitinacleananddryenvironment,whereitwillnotbeexposedtoexcessivedust,dirt,moistureoranycorrosivevapors.Coolingslotsshouldalwaysbecleanandfreefromclogs.
Note:Donotuseagardenhosetocleanthegenerator.Watercanenterthefuelandintakesystemandcauseproblems.Inaddition,ifwateranddirtbuilduponthegeneratorsinternalwindings,theresistanceofthesewindingswilldecrease.
·Tocleanthegenerator,useadampclothtowipetheexteriorsurfaces.·Useasoftbristlebrushtoloosencakedondirtofoil.·Useavacuumcleanertopickuploosedirtanddebris.·Compressedair(nottoexceed25psi)maybeusedtoblowawaydirt.SPARKPLUG·Removethesparkplug·Removethecarbondeposits

AboutYourProductWarrantyEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.welcomeswarrantyrepairandapologizestoyouforbeinginconvenienced.AnyAuthorizedServiceDealermayperformwarrantyrepairs.Mostwarrantyrepairsarehandledroutinely,butsometimeswarrantyservicemaybeinappropriate.Forexample,warrantywouldnotapplyifanengineisdamagedbecauseofmisuse,lackofroutinemaintenance,shipping,handling,warehousingandimproperinstallation.Similarly,warrantyisvoidiftheserialnumberontheenginehasbeenremovedoriftheenginehasbeenalteredormodified.IfacustomerdifferswiththedecisionoftheServiceDealer,aninvestigationwillbemadetodeterminewhetherthewarrantyapplies.AsktheServiceDealertosubmitallsupportingfactstohisDistributororthefactoryforreview.Ifthedistributororthefactorydecidesthattheclaimisjustified,thecustomerwillbefullyreimbursedforthoseitemsthataredefective.Toavoidmisunderstanding,whichmightoccurbetweenthecustomerandthedealer,listedbelowaresomeofthecausesofenginefailurethatthewarrantydoesnotcover

Impropermaintenance:Thelifeofanengineoryourequipmentdependsupontheconditionsunderwhichitoperates,andthecareitreceives.Someapplications,suchastillers,pumps,androtarymovers,areveryoftenusedindustyordirtyconditions,whichcancausewhatappearstobepremature,wear.Suchwear,whencausedbydirt,dust,sparkpugcleaninggrit,orotherabrasivematerialthathasenteredtheenginebecauseofimpropermaintenanceisnotcoveredbywarranty.Thiswarrantycoverenginerelateddefectivematerialand/orworkmanshiponly,andnotreplacementorrefundoftheequipmenttowhichtheenginemaybemounted.Nordesthewarrantyextendtorepairsrequiredbecauseof:1.Problemscausedbypartsthatarenotoriginaleasterntools&equipment,inc.,parts.2.Equipmentcontrolsorinstallationsthatpreventstarting,causeunsatisfactoryengineperformance,orshortenenginelife.(Contactequipmentmanufacturer.)3.Leakingcarburetor,cloggedfuelpipes,stickingvalves,orotherdamage,causedbyusingcontaminatedorstalefuel.(Useclean,fresh,lead‐freegasoline.)4.Partswhicharescoredorbrokenbecauseanenginewasoperatedwithinsufficientorcontaminatedlubricatingoil,orandincorrectgradoflubricatingoil(checkoilleveldailyorafterevery8hoursofoperation.Refillwhennecessaryandchangeatrecommendedintervals.)Enginedamagemayoccurifoillevelisnotproperlymaintained.ReadOperating&MaintenanceInstructions.5.Repairoradjustmentofassociatedpartsorassembliessuchasclutches,transmissions,remotecontrols,etc.,whicharenotmanufacturedbyEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.6.Damageorweartopartscausedbydirt,whichenteredtheenginebecauseofimproperairfiltermaintenance,re‐assembly,oruseofanon‐originalairfilterelementorcartridge.ReadOperating&MaintenanceInstructions.7.Partsdamagedbyover‐speeding,oroverheatingcausedbygrass,debris,ordirt,whichplugsorclogsthecoolingfins,orflywheelare,ordamagedcausedbyoperatingtheengineinaconfinedareawithoutsufficientventilation.8.Engineorequipmentpartsbrokenbyexcessivevibrationcausedbyaloosencutterbladesunbalancedbladesorlooseunbalancedimpellers,improperattachmentofequipmenttoenginecrankshaft,overspeedingorotherabuseinoperation.9.Abentorbrokencrankshaft,causedbystrikingasolidobjectwiththecutterbladeofarotarylawnmower,orexcessivev‐belttightness.10.Routinetune‐uporadjustmentoftheengine.11.Engineorenginecomponentfailure,i.e.,combustionchamber,valves,valveseats,valveguides,orburnedstartermotorwinding,causedbythealternatedfuelssuchas,liquefiedpetroleum,naturalgas,alteredgasoline’setc.

CALIFORNIA&USEPAEMISSIONCONTROLWARRANTYSTATEMENTTheU.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),theCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)andEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.arepleasedtoexplaintheFederalandCaliforniaEmissionControlSystemWarrantyonyoursmallnonroadengine.InCalifornia,newsmallnonroadenginesmustbedesigned,builtandequippedtomeettheState’sstringentandanti‐smogstandards.EasternTools&Equipment,Inc.mustwarranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyoursmallnonroadenginefortheperiodsoftimelistedabovelistedaboveprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglectorimpropermaintenanceofyoursmallnonroadengine.Youremissioncontrolsystemmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetor,orfuel‐injectionsystem,theignitionsystemandcatalyticconverter.Alsoincludedmaybehoses,belts,connectorsandotheremission‐relatedassemblies.Whereawarrantableconditionexists,EasternTools&Equipment,Inc.willrepairyoursmallnonroadengineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,partsandlabor.
OWNER’SWARRANTYRESPONSIBILITIESAsthesmallnonroadengineowner,youareresponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequiredmaintenancelistedinyourOwner’sManual.EasternTools&Equipment,Inc.recommendsthatyouretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyoursmallnonroadengine,butEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.cannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorforyourfailuretoensuretheperformanceofallscheduledmaintenance.Asthesmallnonroadengineowner,youshould,however,beawarethatEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour;smallnonroadorpartthereofhasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermaintenanceorunapprovedmodifications.YouareresponsibleforpresentingyoursmallnonroadenginetoEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.distributioncenterassoonasaproblemexists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedinareasonableamountoftime,nottoexceed30days.IfyouhaveanyquestionsregardingyourwarrantyrightsandresponsibilitiesorrequestwarrantyserviceyoushouldcontacteithertheplaceofpurchaseorEasternTools&Equipment,Inc.,c/oServiceManager,EngineandEquipmentServiceDivision.
