What is social media?

• Social media is a form of mass communication that incorporates people expressing their feelings.

• Social networking is using social media sites as communication and interacting with individuals online

Why did I decide to research this?

• Social media was an interesting topic because it is a popular topic right now

• Social media has been placed in a negative light in the past few years

• Generation X (parents) criticize Millennials (teens) about social media usage.

My Hypothesis

• I hypothesized that if teens use social media more then they will become less social and lose their ability to communicate well.

• Less social- communicate less in person and be introverted

• Ability to communicate – comprehend body language and verbal communication

• Asked they 20 questions about how they use social media and why they use social media

• Surveyed 1 freshmen class, 2 sophomore classes, 1 mixed class
